In the changes described for 1.33 you mention some template changes.

Question 1) Do you need to download the templates from the template section in order to get the changes? (I'm assuming yes, but want to ask just in case).

Question 2) If you do have to download the templates, will they mess up already saved characters?

1) No. The default templates are all included in the update.jar file. The only reason you need to manually download the templates is if you're working on a custom template. Custom templates are (obviously) not updated by the update.jar file.

2) Even if you change the template on a character, it won't "mess anything up". The system is designed to allow templates to be changed out on characters. When a new template is loaded onto a character, any abilities that are not part of the new template definition will be removed. How much "reformatting" that occurs will vary....based mainly on where the changes in the formatting have occurred and how they were made.

Hope this helps!

Is there any reason that the templates are .hdl?? and not a zip or one big file to grab? The reason is that everytime I download them it makes them .txt files not a big deal, but some people minght have problems.

Same reason as above, really...there's no reason (generally) for someone to pull them all down. The templates are there as a reference for folks that want to work on their own template. When you're working on your own template, you'll only need one of the existing ones as your "starting point"....not all of them.

If you're interested in grabbing all of them, the update.jar file contains everything that is changed in the app....including the templates.

For me I know it woudl be helpful to have one big zip to download because I have been modifying several of the templates for my game. And I end up having to download 5 of the files. I wouldn't mind downloading all of them because in the end I would save time and later on I might make templates off of other files as well.
