Not meaning to slight the Kinsey thread, but as someone pointed out - it is worth making a thread about it-
Writer ---- Actor
1 ---- 10
I have a theory that PBeMs and GMing appeal to those with more of a writer-inclination, storytelling games and freeforms appeal more to actor-inclined roleplayers and tabletop appeals to both.
So which would you classify yourself as? More of a writer, or more of an actor?
Myself - I'm definitely around the 3 mark. Very rarely will I venture into the acting side of things, very much "describe the character" rather than "be the character".

Looks like I lean ever so slightly towards actor. I might be more if LARPers did not freak me out so much.

I'm a bit of both, although I see myself myself as a director. And set designer, sound effects crew, music arranger, producer....

I'm going to have to go with a straight 5 for me. I like writing as much as the acting. I've helped my brothers finish writing a couple books and I've written numerous short stories. On the other hand, acting for me is like breathing to me, not that it's integral to me but I do so enjoy it.

I also had to go for middle of the road. I love writing and coming up with plots and running the storylines for others, but I love playing and coming up with detailed characters just as much. Luckily I get to do this as a GM through my NPC's, though not as well as I would like. I really get to have fun when I go out and help run the LARP I'm involved in. That way I get to create the storyline and run it, but I get to concentrate on having to play only 1 or 2 NPC's.

I had to put down a 3... RPG adventures only become "real" to me when I take the time to "write 'em up" afterwards. It helps to solidify them as part of the game world canon... and thinking in terms of dramatic/narrative arc helps me pace my games to provide that dramatic sense that can be missing from some more Sim style games.
Combat, though... that is very Sim to me. That is when I "want to be there" with all the sweaty palms, fear, adrenaline, anger and violence inherent... as well as tactics and random bloody death. The Nar gloves come off at least 60% of the time in combat. :)

I do accents and I'm not really interested in writing stories, though I enjoy world and character creation, so I guess I'm more of an actor than a writer.

I don't really like the scale enough to vote, I've done diaries and writing as well as gotten into character voices. But anyway on the whole middle of the road, certainly.
