Front page layout fubar in Mozilla 1.3

The layout of the front page to accomodate the new art is getting b0rked in Mozilla 1.3 (Win2k) -- I attach a re-sized screenshot to show you what I mean. The layout error is repeatable and regenerates following a forced redraw.

The problem doesn't appear in IE6.

I'll look into it and see if there is some cleaning of the code that will fix the problem.

In case it helps, in Netscape 4.7 I get the "Log In" graphic obscuring the News text, while in Opera 7.1 the graphic vanishes altogether (in neither browser can I get the respective problem to not happen).
