Dan,

My first suggestion is that you might want to start an official:
"Version 2 Suggestions" thread so that there aren't a bunch of individual "suggestion" threads all over the place.:)
I don't know if you are looking for this kind of input, but people are probably going to do it anyway now that V2 has been announced.

Secondly, I posted something a while back about being able to display the damage done by a Martial Arts Maneuver.

To recap: I would like to be able to have the damage for a Standard Martial Arts Maneuver based on the Normal STR Characteristic show up on my character sheet as part of the information about the Maneuver.

Example:

Crush (W): 1/2 Phase, +0 OCV, +0 DCV, STR +4d6 Crush, Must Follow Grab

would look like this (assuming a STR of 20)

Crush (W): 1/2 Phase, +0 OCV, +0 DCV, 8d6 Crush, Must Follow Grab

I know that STR in the Superhero genre can be a very complicated issue, since it can be bought as a power, as part of a multipower, etc. etc.

Even if you wanted to try to have Hero Designer do the math, you would probably need to include a drop down list of exactly what "STR values" should be applied to the Maneuver in question, to be able to calculate the damage, since a "Power Armor" Character might have extra STR from his armor that could not be used with his Martial Arts!

I am not asking for anything that complicated. I just think it would be useful, especially for the many people who play Fantasy Hero, Pulp Hero, Ninja Hero, etc., to be able to see the damage a maneuver does, based on the plain old STR value on the character sheet.

Is there any chance of getting this capability, or something that would allow for it, into V2?

The Martial Arts section is going to be heavily re-vamped for v2. Among the changes that I'm planning on during this process is (more or less) exactly what you have above.

I don't think that the STRE "selection" will be necessary...I'll just go off of the totals (primary/secondary) for calculating the damage. If someone has a power armored character and they don't want some of the STR bonuses to add in, then they should not have them affect totals.

Great news, Dan!
Thanks.
