I have been unable to download and use the 9 Hero Designer Templates
It tells me to:

Simply download the template (.hdt) file to your system and select it via File -> Set Template -> Choose File...

Except that when I click on it, it comes up with a web page that has all this code on it... If I try "Save As" .hdt is NOT one of the options to save it. How do I get these dang things into my Hero Creator v2?????

I finally got the Prefabs to work so there must be something I am missing... Any help will be GREATLY appreciated...

1. First and foremost, make sure you are pulling v2 templates. You REALLY don't want to run a v1 template in v2.

2. You neither need nor want (in your case) to load the built-in templates manually. Only use the process you are attempting for custom templates.

3. Right clicking on a link and saving the file is a basic browser function....independent of hd. You are left-clicking the file if your browser is rendering the xml content.

I'm using Firefox as my browser. I right-click on the link, choose "save link as", and use "text". Be sure that the name you save it as ends in .hdt

See if that works.

If you're using Internet Explorer, beware of IE renaming the file. I downloaded a custom template off the board the other day, and IE appended the suffix .xml.

If you take off the .xml, it works OK.
