Okay, the White Hats, the good guys, the often non supers who the super teams may have to turn to.

Which is your favorite? :)

EDIT: Going with the 'official' groups here. I'm sure we all have our homemade specials, but that's another subject so I left that option out.

I have to go with PRIMUS. They've got that wierd vibe of patriotism, violence and potential goosestepping nastiness inherent in any organization with a successful supersoldier program. The PCs don't always trust them but they have to wrk with them anyhow. After all, they're the ones legally allowed to kick down doors and run amok with blasters.

Primus ? When did the facist bully boys qualify as the good guys ? I would sooner trust the CIA and that is saying something.
UNTIL. For making the World a better place.

SAT.

If you are going to have democratic fascist, at least make them whole hearted about it.

Primus are wimps, who still take liberal criticisms seriously. SAT, at least, were the real American SS, with no ambiguity.

I will conceed, however, that the original Golden Avenger was the best and biggest Nazi since 1945. Well, apart from Invictus, but he's a "superhero" too.

I hope Invictus shows up appeared in the FREd universe, because he's fun. Golden Avenger Kaufmann has already been written out. :(

PRIMUS, because I don't trust the UN, or any agency thereof, as far as I could spit underwater.

Mmm, I think SAT is no longer in the CU as of 5th Ed, though I suppose I could have put in DoSPA.

As for myself, I put down PRIMUS. They've just been too useful as the tighta## govt agents that the PCs have to reluctantly respect (and vice versa) the dynamics alone are hilarious.

Others came close though.
I admit to not being a big UNTIL fan, but that could change.

I had to vote for the Trimegistus Council, if only for the reason that my current character was just appointed archmage by them in our campaign. (I not espically happy, I'm a bigger target now).

Quick, shove the big pointy hat they gave your character onto Witchcraft's head and run for the nearest non hostile parrellel dimension ;)

I have a soft spot for Stronghold. This was the first detailed comic-book super prison, predating the Vault in Marvel and heavily influencing it. The way it described handling criminals with various powers was very logical, and the robots are such an in-genre touch. I always liked the way the guards at Stronghold are described in Classic Enemies: "The 52 guards that are always on duty at Stronghold are keenly aware that they hold one of the most dangerous jobs - security or otherwise - in the world. They uphold this responsibility with flair and determination."

I've had PC heroes prevent a breakout from Stronghold, and have had them (wrongly) convicted and have to break out themselves. Both memorable adventures. :)

Stronghold - life on the "inside" figured heavily in the last supers game I played in, where 2 of the characters were ex-cons. Though I've never been impressed by the robot gaurds - "screws" in powered armor is the way to IMHO.

While I do find them heavy-handed at times, I gotta go with PRIMUS. SCM's version is pretty cool. Anyway, I am extremely uneasy when it comes to anything UN nowadays.

SAT

Primus was just a cheap PC knock-off (Shelley did a great job with her rewrite of the 3rd Ed. version, but still, there's no substitute for the original jack booted super police).

The UN underwater org from super-agents with the supersub (name?) was pretty cool too.

My earliest campaigns revolved around UNTIL using U.S. superheroes to eliminate VIPER nests as a way to circumvent the restrictions placed by the government on their mobility inside the U.S.

You never forget those early days...

Everyone knows what my favorite org is, but my second favorite is Chessmen (http://www.mactyre.net/archives/chessmen). It's nice to ditch the federal procedure and just kick butt! :)

(OK, so they're not official....and I really need to update the webpage!)

I voted for UNTIL, but I was always partial to Damage Control (I think they were called)

Grunt, Sponge, Terra and Jason (the Healer...okay he was only in my campaigns but still it was cool)

These NPCs came up often in my games where the characters were held accountable for the collateral damage caused to the city they were chartered to protect.

They also made great love interest characters in dangerous lines of work.

I was fond of Damage Control myself, even if they were a pretty blatant ripoff of Marvel Comics's "Aftermath, Inc." The super-class characters did add something distinctive to DC, though.

I also added a healer: Panacea, from the government hero group "Executive Sanction" in the Champs supplement Allies. He didn't belong with combat heroes in both my opinion and the opinion of the character as specified in the supplement, and Damage Control seemed like a natural place for a man of his talents and mindset.

Mmm, one has to wonder: would Uncaped magazine count as an organization?

Okay, okay, I admit it, it was immature of me.

How did you know I took x2 stun from eye rolls?

Off topic, since we're talking good guy organizations, but does anyone know when/if we're getting more information on ARGENT?

There doesn't seem to be anything mentioning it specifically in the release schedule, even the tentative one. :( Perhaps something more will appear as part of another book, such as Champions Battlegrounds.

For my own campaign, I was thinking that the organization and modus operandi of RAVEN from the old Super Agents supplement would be a perfect fit for ARGENT: a series of hidden bases protected by mercenaries, each headed by an Administrator, working on a particular breakthrough technology according to a centrally administered timetable and budget. Given the corporate origins of ARGENT, that would seem like a natural evolution.

Because of that corporate background, I'm also toying with the idea of making the ultimate leader of ARGENT Master Control, from the supplement High Tech Enemies. MC's secret I.D. as head of a major corporation would certainly lend itself if discovered to the circumstances that forced ARGENT to overtly criminal status. His Black Guard and Silver Guard agents would continue the "argent" motif, and Master Control's attempts to steal the secrets of other scientists would be appropriate to a criminal group focussed on technology.

 Ditto for me,only in my PC's case it's a older mage who is her mentor and is the oldest member of the council as a member of the inner circle hidden from the council members in my campaign.
