Hey,

I'm looking at starting a new campaign now that I have moved to LA. I think I want it to take place in a Superhero school - just in time for the new Champions Teens suppliment - (ala the comicbook Sidekicks, or Harry Potter or X-Men)
The basic idea is that the increase in superhumans has created a need for a place to help train the next generation in an environment where they are free to explore their abilities. They aren't necessarily feared or hated (like the X-Men) or hidden away where no one knows of them (like Harry Potter), but it is somewhat out of the way and exclusive.
Anyway, what I'm asking, what kind of school rules would an academy like that have?
No Superspeed in the halls? Anyone caught using x-ray vision unsupervised gets detention?
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hawkfu

Especially if it's supposed to be a secret, I'd think the general rule would be no use of powers except when supervised by an instructor. Limit it to official classes, etc. where someone responsible is present and there are safeguards available (sturdy danger room, medical supplies available).

If the students are a team like the X-men, then this could of course be relaxed when in costume/on a mission.

But generally, don't go jogging into town carrying a bus in secret ID, don't read your classmates' minds outside of official instruction, don't use your fire powers in the kitchen to heat up your cocoa and accidentally hit that gas leak, etc.

"The Intimates" have an interesting take on it, as well. It's a limited series, and it's on #5 of 6, but it's a good read.
