I started experiencing what a couple people have mentioned regarding HD slowing down.
I looked through the Trace.log file and it looks scary. Here it is:

Actually, there's nothing unusual in the trace.log file....just a bunch of font definitions/lookups. It will always start out that way (I've got font debugging statements turned on to help out folks that have corrupt font files on their system causing havoc).
If you're experiencing the severe slowdown that others have reported, you'll likely want to try the same fix that seems to have worked for them: uninstall all versions of Java from your system and then reinstall JRE 1.4.1 from Sun. There's something that seems to go very wrong with some of the previous JREs on some Windows systems.

In fact I did it when you first mentioned it in the hopes that I wouldn't experience the slow downs.
What scared me wasn't the fonts. I knew about that. It is the amount of memory it is using up by the end of the log.
I guess it's about time for a full uninstall and reinstall of the OS, I suppose.
