Howdy!

How would one make an energy beam who's purpose is to weld metal together? Occassionally it comes up in my game that the flying zakker wants to seal off a chemical leak or a door and I am not quite sure how to build the power.

Transform? RKA with penatrating? Rules wise where are the rules for weilding two objects together?

Thanks!

If it doesn't come up often I would just let the flying zakker zak it (assuming his zak is heat based) and be done with it. If it come up often than I'd probably make the PC buy a transform to simulate the welding.

I pretty much agree with John Desmarais, but would add that you could just have him make a Power skill check, with the appropriate modifiers, to be able to weld the door, or whatever. Of course, that assumes the Flying Zakkar has a power SFX that would merit welding doors.

My build of Scott Summers (X-men's Cyclops) had a weld in his Multipower. I used a small Transform with the Variable advantage to reflect his ability to weld all kinds of different objects together (It's unsaid, but all things weldable still need GMs approval).

I would probably call it a simple applictaion of the Mechanics Skill, which naturally requires proper equipment (unless maybe bought as a ridiculously high value such that an Extraordinary check is possible).
