Greetings All,

I am going to be moving to Tallahassee soon and figured I should start looking into gamers in that area. Are there any? :)

Any information is appreciated.

Stevezilla lives in Tallahassee proper, while I live in Crawfordville, about 20 minutes to the southwest.

Thank You for the luck. I am sure all of us require it sooner or later to find a good group, or at times any group. :)

Champions has been my favorite game (and vice) since I started playing it back in . . . think for a moment as I date myself :) . . . 1982.

I also enjoy Fantasy Hero. I love the Hero System and pretty much enjoy any genre run using it.

I also play D&D though if I am not going to be playing using the Hero System I will usually play any number of Palladium (just don't ask me what I think of the system . . . oops, starting to become sick just thinking about it) games but most especially Rifts and HU. I have recently become acquainted with Mutants and Masterminds and am overall impressed but not enough to give up my first love. :)

I started playing Champions in 1987 (IIRC -- It could be +/- a year).

I've played in a "Star Hero" type game (long before Star Hero came out). I've wanted to give the latest Fantasy Hero rules a try, but have not been able to find a group.

I've never playing anything from Palladium. I am leery of playing a system that has "mega-damage". I still have my DnD 3.0 books, and would be willing to play in a 3.0 game. But I won't spend another cent on DnD books -- they lost me as a customer with that whole 3.5 crap.

I play other games besides RPGs -- primarily Battletech.

Where do you hold your games? Are there game stores in Tallahassee? I did a search and while I see comic book stores, I don't see that they really cater to the RPG crowd.

Well, first off, I've never been a GM. But you are correct that there are no honest-to-goodness game stores here in town. The closest we have is a store on West Tennessee St. called "Comics & Games of Tallahassee". They do run Warhammer (the wargame) from time to time in the store -- but that's it. It's a shame that a town with so many potential gamers has no true game store.

There is a local "club" that meets at the library every Tuesday from around 5 PM to close (9 PM). They also meet elsewhere on Saturday and Sunday from 2 PM to closing. You don't have to be a member -- just show up.

There are some RPGs being run at these locations. However, some of the GMs/Players involved are not the highest caliber of people. Games with certain people (only two people, really) either playing in, or running, I tend to avoid.

But mostly, my rotating work schedule has prevented me from being in a RPG. That may be changing, depending upon what job I get hired for.
