Hey, guys!

You know what would be a great tool for would-be Hero writers? A document that clearly lays out what each level of header is and what it looks like.

I know it should be obvious, having 10 books and the Writer's Guidelines to refer to. But I'd rather make sure and having a simple one or two (probably two) page document that basically spells it out for morons would be really useful.

Such a document would basically be the formatted version of the following...

< chapter > THIS IS A CHAPTER HEADER

This is base text.

<1> THIS IS A LEVEL 1 HEADER

This is base text.

<2> THIS IS A LEVEL 2 HEADER

This is base text.

<3> This Is A Level 3 Header

This is base text.

<4> THIS IS A LEVEL 4 HEADER

This is base text.

<5> This Is A Level 5 Header

This is base text.

NOTE: Yes, the < chapter > tag isn't formatted correctly (there should be no spaces). But if I take out the spaces, the message board interprets it as some sort of code so it doesn't display it as text. :(

Yes, I'm being a spoiled child. Sue me! :D

You could also do this by just pointing out examples in H5E. For example:

Chapter: ''CHARACTER CREATION" on page 11.
Header 1: "CHARACTERISTICS" on page 19.
Header 2: "EXPLANATION OF CHARACTERISTICS" on page 20.
Header 3: "Primary Characteristics" on page 20.
Header 4: "STRENGTH (STR)" on page 20.
Header 5: "STR Rolls" on page 20.

Thanks, Derek!

I just need the visual reference so that I know what I'm doing while I'm writing. And I never realized there was an example which neatly compiled ALL SIX LEVELS in one spot like that. Shows you how good my perception is. :p

Instead of feeling stupid, I'm going to keep repeating to myself that the only stupid question is the unasked question... and I'm going to keep repeating it to myself until I actually believe it.

Thanks! You are the man, Derek!

No sweat. Not stupid at all... I wanted the same thing, which is why I went looking for a place in H5E that had the five levels near each other. :)
