View Full Version : How to build a cool effect?

I'm still slowly converting over old characters to 5Th and with the extra points I can afford various "cool" powers that I always wanted and I'm stumped...I have Time twister speedster and I want him to be "Immune to becoming dizzy"...is this an aplication of Life support or an odd Environmental movement style effect? Either way it should be cheap as it is a flavor power that is unlikely to ever actually be used...Thanx

I would think, that something of that nature would be unecessary to build via points....unless of course, you want it to be able to defend the character vs a "Dizzying attack" power.

If so, yes, I'd buy it as a form of Environmental movement. It would be considered the appropriate defense against any attack meant to disorient the character in that fashion.

Published characters who have the power to make others dizzy, such as Kinetik, define that ability as a Drain DEX. The UNTIL Superpowers Database defines those abilities the same way.

Assuming you stick with that rationale, just buy Power Defense (X points) (X Active Points); Only To Protect Against Dizzying/Vertigo Drain DEX Attacks (-2). Total cost .33X. ;)

I say Environmental Movement.

It's already been used in official HERO products to represent things other than true "environments" like intoxication, so why not dizzyness, as well?

How about Desolid vs. Dizzying SFX only?

Count in my vote for Environmental Movement. Should cost 2 points (not quite as limiting as Intoxication; no slured speach or impaired thinking).

Thanx to all...I was thinking enviromental movement based on the immune to intoxication example but I was thinking Life support so to stop a super speed spin/dizzy attack...but the Guru (steve) says power def so I guess I better go that way...:)
