Sorry if this was already covered...

Using 2.42, I am trying to make a MP with charges costing END as follows:

Ninja Tags: Multipower, 30-point reserve, (30 Active Points); all slots Requires A Ninjutsu Roll (-1/2), OIF Expendable (Easy to obtain new Focus; -1/2), 12 Charges (-1/4), Costs Endurance (Only Costs END to Activate; -1/4), Linked (Dagger; -1/4)

I can add items in easily enough, such as (text from the MP slot):
Ninja Flash: Sight and Hearing Groups Flash 5d6 (30 Active Points); Requires A Ninjutsu Roll (-1/2), OIF Expendable (Easy to obtain new Focus; -1/2), Linked (Dagger; Lesser Power can only be used when character uses greater Power at full value; -1/2), Costs Endurance (Only Costs END to Activate; -1/4)

(flash outside of slot: Ninja Flash: Sight and Hearing Groups Flash 5d6)

The only problem is periodically, while working on the character it decides:
Object not allowed in list
Costs Endurance cannot be applied to Flash.
Reason: Costs Endurance cannot be applied to an ability which already costs END.
Flash will be placed outside of the Multipower.

By "periodically", I mean it does not immediately reject the inclusion in the MP, but will randomly pop up after I work on other powers. It then proceed to periodically complain about other powers in the MP, kicking each out as I continued to work on the character

Post your trace.log file after this problem occurs (but before you restart HD).

Attached is the log. I have put powers in the MP, clicked alot, poked, gotten it popped out and such several times.

Ok...no errors. Please post the character file (hdc).

Quick, clean testing it seems related to Linked.

I started with a simple setup, removing all prefabs and characters, making a new heroic...

Tags: Multipower, 30-point reserve, (30 Active Points); all slots 8 Charges (-1/2), Costs Endurance (Only Costs END to Activate; -1/4)
Flash: Sight and Hearing Groups Flash 5d6 (30 Active Points); Costs Endurance (Only Costs END to Activate; -1/4)
Blast: Energy Blast 5 1/2d6 (28 Active Points); Costs Endurance (Only Costs END to Activate; -1/4)
Entangle: Entangle 3d6, 3 DEF (30 Active Points); Costs Endurance (Only Costs END to Activate; -1/4)

Lots of rearranging, shifting, etc, no problems. As soon as I added Linked (to a lesser power; namely linking to a dagger ala the Linked Poisoned Dagger example) it started kicking out items. Heck, it even once complained about the MP having costs end and dropped it from my MP!

Here it is. This is before adding the Linked. It has a token 'Dagger' to link to since linked requires a target.

Nope. It did not complain when I added Linked (as it did before). But as a I shuffled the MP entries around, opend & closed them, and then tried to open the MP itself, I got the popup:
The common modifier Costs Endurance is not a legal modifier on Tags: Multipower. Reason:
Costs endurance cannot be applied to an ability which already costs END.
Costs Endurance will be removed from the List Multipower.

THis was using the bad.hdc and just adding a normal Linked (to Dagger) on the MP.

Please be sure that you are using the current interim build (updated this morning). I am not showing the problem.

May be a bit better....still poking it, but it seems to only complain when you first re-open the MP after accepting the link addition. If I open MP, add common lim (linked), accept the new MP, the very next time I open the MP it stripts Costs End. If I re-add Costs End it is happy. If I remove linked then re-add, it strips costs end again...still poking tho

Yup, re-downloaded it just now. Log shows HeroDesigner log file (version 2.43 -- interim build)
Open HD, open MP, add link, close MP, reopen, get the dialog, re-add costs end, happy.
Remove linked, close MP, open MP, add link, get the dialog.

Looks good! Only thing...

I went back to my actual character (who was going to have this MP).
On load, it complained about the Costs Endurance and stripped it from the MP.

I could not add Costs End back to that MP. When I tried, right after hitting the OK in the type of Costs Endurance window it gave me the "not a legal modifier" dialog twice and would not let me add. I copied the MP to the bad.hdc character (bad2.hdc attached). Even without a linked, it would not let me add the Costs End to that MP (Ninja Tags) even though a near-identical one (Tags) does let me add Costs End....Wierd...

Excellent! That seems to have done it. I can load the ninja character no issues and the MP which was causing grief is all happy. I was able to load it up with the charges, foci, costs end, linked and such and no issues raised. Thank you!!!!!!
