Is there any cost difference for CSL's that ONLY increase ocv, or that ONLY increase dcv? From what I understand, all csl's bought at 3 pts and above can be shifted among ocv, dcv, and 1/2dc (2 csl's for +1dc) at anytime during a players phase (but only affects rolls after the change).

With most other powers and skills, you have to pay extra for the versatility inherent in the above-3-point CSL's.

a 3pt CSL on Ranged ATT is OCV or DCV only.

most times a 3pt CSL applies to a tight group or set group of abilities. If you have 3pt CSL: knives you can't use them for DCV Against martial arts or any ranged attack. Unless the GM states otherwise.

A DCV only CSL is 8pts (I'm pretty sure, away from my book) and applies to DCV only with All Combat.

Actually a DCV only CSL is 5 pts. Total combat CSLs are 8 points (shift between OCV,DCV, and 1/2DC) for any attack that your character might have.

2 pts are with any single type of attack

3 pts are for tight group of attacks (ie pistols, karate)

5 Pts are for HTH combat, ranged Combat, DCV

I don't think 2 pt CSLs can add to DCV, but I could be wrong.

Actually , it is OCV, DCV (vs. ranged attacks only), and damage. At the GM's option they may not be applicable to DCV at all, though Overall CSLs always should be.

I would look at the difference between Overall (8pt) CSLs and DCV CSLs (5pt) to start figuring out the value of a suitable Limitation. That looks like about a -3/4. To make it simple, how about -1 for a level that can apply to only one of OCV, DCV, or damage, and -1/2 for one that can apply to two out of three (unless that is the rule you are already using for a particular level, such as ranged only CSLs as I just mentioned).

Actually, I think -1/2 would be simpler; turning an Overall Combat Level (8 pts) into a DCV-only Level (5 pts) only needs -1/2. Here's the math:
8 / 1.50 = 5.33
8 / 1.75 = 4.57

I think the jump between the two is a little high, especially when you consider how it would look at lower levels. I could see -3/4 for Only Hand to Hand, or Only Ranged, though. Then again, I prefer smaller limitations; I used to go for larger ones, but I broke from it and went the other way.

Hah! You are right. When I did the division I used 10 points for the Overall Level instead of 8 for some reason. :stupid:

EDIT: Err...or not. I screwed it up somehow anyway.
