I have the 5E book. I was wondering, instead of having to go out and buy a brand new revised book, is there a type of SRD that documents only the changes and the new material? It seems rediculous to be forced to purchase a new book when the old one is 95% just fine.

We maintain no such document. I might further point out that given their relative page counts (592 versus 374), roughly 37% of the material in 5ER hasn't appeared in the core rulebook before, not the 5% you estimate.
