Board question

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a couple questions.
Could you put the "Board Links" at the bottom of the thread windows? It's a pain to scroll to the top on a long thread.
Why aren't the threads being marked read after I open it and then close it? Do I need to give it some indication that I've actually read it. I hate having to click the Mark Forum Read link everytime, or having to leave and come back to see the change.
In other words, can these boards act like Natos did?:D

This was mentioned in another thread -- I believe the deal is that the thread read/unread icons key off when you last logged in, not whether you've opened the thread or not.
