The Champions forum gets the "who would win" polls all the time -- why the heck not the Fantasy Hero forum?
Who would win Conan or Groo?

Not even Conan can prevail against the power of cheese dip! He'll be mulched.
Assuming it's a one shot. If it's a miniseries, it'sa tie since the publisher will certainly go under before the final issue can be printed.

Is this Groo with or without Rufferto as backup?

It makes all the difference if they're on a ship.

Groo would win, but it would be completely by accident.:D

In competence, Conan would destroy him.
Unfortunately, Groo would slip on a banana peel, and his blade would cut off the cimmerian's leg...

I'll probably have to turn in my official geek card for asking but.....Who is Groo?

Groo by a mile. This fight is not even fair; there's nothing Conan can do against 5d6 of Combat Luck.

Sheesh... Groo would wade through some town and end up killing Conan without even realizing he'd done so.
OR
pssst...Groo...see that guy over there...the one in the loincloth...he's been telling everyone you're a mendicant!

This is a no-brainer (if you'll pardon the pun): Groo wins hands down. Groo has singlehandedly defeated entire armies ("A fray!").
Groo is as good with his swords as he is stupid. Only a rock has greater potential to be stupid than Groo. Ergo, he is the greatest swordsman who has ever lived, and who ever will live. :D

Conan is a better axe-wielder,
and has more Combat Feats, per se.
But if Groo is around Conan is likely to slip on a banana peel...

"Groo will teach you not to call him that! Or any other words he does not understand!"
Funniest FH game I ever played was one where I ran a Groo-like character (scaled down to 100+50 of course). Since I was the only one in the group who had read the comics, I got to use all his best lines and everyone thought I was making them up. There was even a female warrior in the party, so I got to do all the Chakaal routines: "She is so beautiful as she charges off into battle without me...Hey! Wait for me!":D

"Ha! You think just because there are more of you that you have me outnumbered. I will prove you wrong!"

Despite being one of the top fictional warriors of all time, Conan has no chance in a fray against Groo, which is just invencible. However, being much smarter, Conan would devise some sort of con to take advantage of Groo stupidity. Unfortunately, Groo's jinx would spoil the plan completely.
As both characters are currently being published by Dark Horse, perhaps Sergio might promote an encounter. It would be funny, although not much to Conan's serious fans.

Groo is a parody of the typical fantasy warrior barbarian - great with his swords and dumb as a post, with huge amounts of luck tossed in.
He's co-written by Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier, creator-owned and has been published by a number of companies over the past 20 or so years (including Pacific Comics, Eclipse for one book, Marvel through the Epic line and most recently Dark Horse). Over the years, he's built up a lot of running jokes as you can see from the thread.
The bigger question is "Who is this Conan fellow"? ;)

He's a skinny, red-haired dude with a late-night talk show.
