OOPS! I wasn't clear in my first post.

In my original post I said, "My Martial Artist is a normal Joe who can summon his Ch'i to become a super. I bought his powers as OIHID (there are no foci involved). There are also no intrinsic changes in his appearance." In other words after his "change" into hero ID, he LOOKS exactly the same. No Hulking-out. My GM thinks you MUST change in some physical way.

The answer's the same: your GM has the right to set the parameters and rules for his game. However, under the rules as written, there's no requirement whatsoever that OIHID involve a physical change.
