Just wondering... what can I click on to make Real Weapon appear in the Limitations list? Or is it not there at all?

Also, the other "real weapon" goodies like Required Hands and such. Are they somewhere, or no?

All of those are available if you're using any of the Heroic level templates.....I'm going to be talking to Steve about whether they should be added into the Super-heroic level templates as well.

Ahhh... very good. See, I thought I had seen it, but then I couldn't find it again. Changing the templates confuzzled me.

Having those Limitations available in superhero templates would be a boon.

Thanks!

Yeah, it's something that others have brought up.....I have been under the impression that the Limitations are only valid for Heroic-level campaigns, which is why I didn't include them from the outset.

It sounds very much like I may be mistaken in this belief.....all I'm waiting on is for Steve to get settled back in after the con and I'll talk to him about it and see which way it should go. If he says that they're valid for superheroic-level characters, then I'll get them added into the templates for the next update.

It could be that you're correct in that those Limitations are for Heroic level games only. I don't have my book handy to check. But, the way I run my campaign, I like to keep rules as equal across the board as possible just in case I ever want to mix and match campaign styles. Therefore, for example, I have characters in my superhero genre campaign purhase Weapon Familiarities if they want to be able to pick up "normal" weapons and use them in a pinch (which is generally a Heroic level campaign item only).

So, even if "real weapon" Limitations are technically Heroic level only, having them available in Super templates would be a plus for me.

Then again, does it really matter? If I create a weapon in a Heroic level template, and then put it into a pre-fab, is it available for all templates?

This thread makes me wonder, is there a generic template that includes all skills, perks, abilities, powers, limitations, advantages, equipment, and disadvantages, regardless of genre level. If not that would be a great addition later on in a v2 or v3.....

This would allow cross genre character creation...IF the gm desired or allowed it.

Anyway, it is do-able. If one were to do this, I would recommend what I have done. Print out the help file from HD, and print the updates page. These two combined will have a list of all the tags you would need.

Real weapon is not available on the "normal" templates as well. I would think everything below superheroic should have access to real weapon and real armor limitations. Not a big deal to add them as custom mods... but still.

I just used a Custom Modifier and changed the text to 'Real Weapon' when I needed it.
