Hero Creator 5th Edition Template

I heard a rumor that they are doing a 5th edition template. This is unofficial right? I heard that they wouldn't do it so I just want to check and see what is going on.

Actually, it's going to be for MetaCreator. Chris Mullens has been working on it for some time and I understand he has the blessing to DOJ. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

There's also one done by someone else that's already finished. I have both Chris' and this other one, but rarely ever use Metacreator any more. The other one that is finished is already publicly available but I can't remember where I got it. I think there is a Metacreator group on Yahoo that has it.

It is on the CW group on Yahoo under 'files'. You will have to get the latest update for your MC or you will run into errors. Llama nabbed it last night and is in Llama heaven. :D

Yes, I am creating the Hero 5th Edition Template for Metacreator. Herogames has given me permission to do it as long as I don't sell it, therefore, the Template itself is free. Also, since this is not an Official software (that would be Hero Designer), I have some leeway to include things that may not be considered Official by Herogames.

But don't get me wrong, I've worked hard to make the Template compliant with every rule that the Hero 5th Edtiion has, but I've built in a lot of customization tools for GM's for flexibility in their own campaigns.

Anyone can email me to become a Beta Tester to get the Template (which is now in Gamma stage).

Unfortunately, due to some legal issues I chose not to even attempt the task, although I will offer to help/advise anyone who wants to make the modifications to their own Template to make it 5th Edtion compliant.

In others words, since I couldn't get resounding approval on all fronts concerning CW Template legally, I won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

If there is a reference you can point me to so that I can understand how the Powers are structured in the Hero System CDS, I can take it from there.

I've got the Skills, Perks, Talents, and Disads already modified for 5th. (Admittedly, I had to put some of the items Steve calls "Skills," such as the Autofire Skills, under Talents because of the structure of the coding, but in the end it doesn't effect what's printed out.) I just need to modify the powers now... and that's the time consumer, considering the code structure.
