Barton the ratman can not attend, he has a work related meeting that weekend. Instead I will attend the first two days of RockCon. Sorry, I really wanted to go. Next year, unless I have a conflict.

I'm in. Already booked the hotel.

What nifty things will be happening at the HERO booth this year?

Oh, and since Thrusday will be open gaming, is anyone planning a game for that day/evening?

While we're on the subject, there's room at GCSC for a Hero booth monkey slot. If you're interested, going to the show anyway and don't have a badge yet, Hero will get you in free on an exhibitor badge (you handle your own transport and lodging, of course) and slip you some free product in exchange for a few hours setting up and closing down the booth and occasionally helping mind the store during bathroom/food/shopping breaks. Post here if you're interested! dw

Wish I could. Don't have the time off available from work yet, since I haven't even had my 90 day review yet. I plan on it next year though. :)

Bad timing for me -- this time of year is Open Enrollment and people get panicky if I take time off between Sept and Dec. It damn near took an act of congress for me to take tomorrow off to move.

I'll be there to buy Pulp Hero. Will be spending most of my time in the vendor's hall (and don't even need badges because I am running some events) but I don't have the name recognition to be an effective booth money.

Bad timing for me

Well, Plucky, Rod and I will do our best to make up for the loss. I do hope more of us attend though. It would be cool to have a 'get-together.'

By the by Darren, they just posted the exhibitor list and map on the GenCon site. I don't see you guys on the list. Where's the booth going to be?

As for the 'Monkey' position, I'd be happy to help you guys out, but I'm also looking at a bunch of games and events I want to attend during dealer room hours. If that's not a problem, PM me.

I'll be running 4 games there

I'm splitting the room with a friend of mine who would be interested in the Booth Monkey position (He's currently job hunting.)

Which games are you running? Tell us and sell us so we can set our gaming schedules!

Also, if there is someone who is in actual need of the Booth Monkey position, that would be far better. I can afford to go and buy books on my own dime.

I am going to be there running three games, none of them HERO alas, but hopefully with time to shmooze with folks before or after those games.

I will of course be visiting the HERO booth occasionally, because I tend to spend inordinate amounts of time in the exhibit hall anyway. Let me put it this way: I have a ticket in my pocket for the next three Powerball drawings. I know, empirically, that my purchase oif that ticket has not improved my chances of winning what is currently a $148 million jackpot in any statistically significant way. But I will say that in the unlikely event of my winning such a jackpot and having recieved any of the money before GenCon SoCal, I would be dropping a large qunaitity of cash at the HERO table (and numerous others -- I'm much less picky about my RPG and DVD purchases when I have lots of cash to spend).

As it is, though, I'll have to be cautious. And I'm still trying to figure out my meals and the like, so being someone's guest for lunch would be a very nice thing for me.

Once again, the Gencon gang have failed to isolate us out of the Game Publishers Association group booth and ID us individually. Look for "GPA"- we'll be running both our own booth and the "GPA Showcase" next door. dw

I've attached a schedule of HERO sessions at SoCal.

Richard's been out of work for awhile and working odd jobs when he can get them and any bit he could save would be greatly appreciated.

Booth 602 it is, then.

I'm a non-commital sort. Last year I was dying to be there due to new release considerations, but had money issues. This year, no money issues, I'm just in one of those apathetic periods. If I show, it will be likley both unexpected and brief.

So, what is the process to sign up to help? I'd be happy to set things up and tear things down. I'd sit at the booth if you don't care about that name recognition thing.

Well, name recognition doesn't actually matter- heck, you'd be wearing Ben's nametag to get in most likely, since he's the one who isn't going. This job is just helping us pack and unpack boxes, hang art, and keep an eye on the booth when somebody has to go to the bathroom/prize a game/rescue Ken Hite from the foam-sword girls. You'd never be there alone. However, we do have somebody who beat you to the punch- if for some reason he doesn't work out, we'll re-post the request. Thanks everybody! dw

Well, the offer's out here if you need (more) bodies to move and hang things (not good at rescuing people). Completely unrelated, I keep thinking his name is Hen Kite even though I know it's not...

Yes, I am. "Miracle in Xoana" is one of the most poipular adventures I've ever run at places like DunDraCon and GenCon Milwaukee. It should be a blast in SoCal.

I actually might have to be there just to test out the new 8.1 megapixel camera I just ordered. We shall see! (My game group has first dibs on that or any other weekend; We meet so rarely anymore)

Indeed. The first year I went, I played in one of Rod's Friends of Justice games, with another gentlemen who frequents this board, I forget what his screenname is, I do know his first name was Charles, and he played the butler to great comic effect.

That said, I'm sure coming. After all, I LIVE in Anaheim. After reading (more like devouring) Pulp Hero, I may have to write a few adventures for a pickup game or three. :D

You could always use a Hero Plus Adventure and tweak it to taste. Spears Of The Tisangani was originally a game I ran at conventions (it fills four hours nicely). Over the next couple of weeks, at CubicCon and U-Con, I'm going to test out another one, The Locomotive Pirates, that should show up in the Online Store soon thereafter. ;)

As it is, though, I'll have to be cautious. And I'm still trying to figure out my meals...

There's a Vons located 1.5 miles from the Marriott and the rooms have minifridges in them (don't know about other hotels.) About a 30 minute walk for me to buy pop tarts, energy bars, slimfast, and sandwich stuff. Total cost will be the same or less than one sandwich and a cola at the con center, and a 30-40 minute walk each way will be a good thing since I'll probably not get much exercise over the weekend :D

The Domino's is right next door.

Vons: 12961 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove, CA

Everyone got their badges?

All the GMs still lined up to run their games?

Are we having a get together?

Inquiring minds...

Probably best to just set something up at the show. Stop by the booth and let us put a face to the screen name, and we'll set up a trip out for burgers'n'beer or something. dw

I hope so, but I'm not sure whether the timing will work on my end. I hope my games have not been canceled becaquse of my failure to pre-reg.

The daily updated excel RPG sheet lists all the HERO games and 3 games for Michael. I'm pre-registered for the Slayers game and my account still indicates the game is on.

That's good. I'll be very happy if all three games go off.

Anyone in the Portland area have a USB cable they're not using? Something seems to be wrong with the connection to my printer and I have innumerable things to print out for the con, including character sheets for my games and my itinerary (without which they won't even let me get on the bleeping plane).
