So while I was away, it seems the decision was made to prevent images from displaying in the body of a post. OK, I understand why that's commonly done anymore and have no quibble with that.

But is there any chance my Dynamo smilie at http://herogames.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1086&d=1058229928 could be added to the Smilie List?

You can post an image. It just has to use the UBB image tag instead of html.

OK, I think I get it. While HTML is capable of rendering the image delivered by the query "attachment.php?attachmentid=1086&d=1058229928", vB code cannot. I've been unable to get the forum interface to cough up a real url for the image, so I'll toss a copy of the little guy into photobucket and use that.

Still doesn't let me restore the alt-text I used to attach to the smilie. Bummer, because I really liked that trick. :(

Yeah, looks like the UBB image tag chokes on links that are not in and of themselves an image, rather than something that will serve up an image.
