Looking for a group or can GM if necessary. I preferrer 4 color supers campaigns but I'm pretty much open to playing anything. Free Tue-Fri evenings and most weekends.

I am decidedly NOT a four-colour gamemaster...

But I could play one.

There's a fellow out in the East Valley looking for a regular game..I have no idea on his preferences...

I could probably play in another game...if it was every other weekend.

Depends on how my job search pans out. :)

I'm the "guy" out in the East Valley (who was a chick the last
time she checked)...

You interestedin gaming, still, Lawrence?

Shoot me a message if so! (see the East Valley thread
or reply here!)

"Bah!!

I am not responsible for such a blatant error !!
Your profile suggests NOTHING of your gender.

I am simply guilty of blindly walking into a stereotype."

Really....wasn't trying to offend. :)

Well Lawrence??

No offense taken! :) Just rather amused, over all!

So, anybody home in Lawrence-land?

Hi,

I'm interested in a HERO game. AND I live in the east valley. Wow, 2 for 2. I've been stuck in AD&D land for the past year or so and it's grating on my nerves. I like variety in my gaming and enjoy playing different systems with HERO being my favorite.

I have one infrequent game still going on once a month on Saturdays, but that may even be a generous estimate. I e-mailed one of my fellow players to see if he'd be interested as well.

I'm available on the weekends and prefer it to be every other weekend as I have school, work and some other hobbies to consider.

And how did you miss, "Lady Hierarch of Ovanan" in her profile? :D

Aye.... :) What's up Jemster? we could talk game here... :)

Jemster
Jul 30th, '03, 10:34 PM
Aye, that we could. I'd be willing to do a meet-n-greet of any interested parties sometime in the near future just to talk gaming and see if we can agree on genre and the like. Maybe bat around ideas on how we can recruit more players.

Jul 30th, '03, 10:35 PM
um....I read too fast? or with lack of observation of the details?
I'm game. I have character software too..I shall share the wealth. :-)

every other weekend is good.I must be cautious though, for when school starts back up my weekly game group is looking to shift to bimonthly. I shall hope for a non-conflict in schedules. :-)

Jul 30th, '03, 10:42 PM
If it does go to weekends...I believe I can land at least one more player....I shall check with him.

Meet 'n' greet is good for me. Not my locale though...it's a little cramped. :)

I was thinking meeting at a public place like a park, diner, etc.

A friend of mine Robert is interested in the HERO game as well so that'd make 4+ people already, depending if Farkling's friend wants to game with us.

I'm over in Chandler...and being relativley new to the area, I'm not that well versed in eateries and such...though I do know where the Cousins sub shop on Warner is, near Arizona, and some stuff around the Alma School/Warner area which is my neck of the woods...

Suggestions? I also know where the Atomic Comics on Southern/Country Club is, as well as Game Depot on McClintock/ Southern...

Atomic Comics is near me. I live near Dobson and Guadalupe here in Mesa which is not too far from you. Haven't been in that one that you mentioned so I don't know if there's any place to really sit. Game Depot's too small, although we could probably find something on campus. There's Einstein's Bagels on the corner of Mill Ave. and Apache in Tempe which has good seating. There's also any number of Starbucks or the like.

Farkling
Jul 31st, '03, 03:53 PM
I'm apparently the farthest north and west. :)

I thought the Atomic was on Alma School...did it move?

I'm actually west of Game Depot around Mill and Southern. I like the Depot too. It doesn't seem small to me, but I've only been up there on a game night once. There's five or six tables in there...

That Atomic comics is a failry large target,
as is the Starbucks on Dobson just south of the freeway (US 60).

Alternatively, I believe Bookman's is up on Country Club and Southern, we could meet there...it's fairly large and had chairs and a few sofas scattered about the last few times I was up there...

I'm not very up on the in-betweens. My knowledge of what's IN Chandler extends to the locations of a few hospitals and nursing homes, and the Sam' Club over on Ray.

Farkling
Aug 12th, '03, 04:21 PM
That sounds okay to me...except I have a commitment most Sunday afternoons during weekends...

Friday afternoons are difficult every other week...not this one, but the next. :)

Now...where's our third?

I'm here, but like you guys have been busy (finishing up a summer class (College Algebra. Ugh.)). As I've said, the weekends are the only good time for me. I have an event I'm attending this Saturday night from 7-9 PM, but otherwise this weekend's open.

Okay, I have chosen. We'll meet this Saturday afternoon at 1 PM at Bookmans on Country Club and Southern. Directions from Alma School and Warner (eventhough you probably know it, but you did ask for directions :D )

Go east on Warner to Arizona Blvd (?). Take a left onto Arizona and it'll turn into Country Club. Continue on Country Club until you get to Southern. It'll probably be easier to take a left onto Southern than try and cross oncoming traffic trying to get into the parking lot. We can meet by the RPG section.

Saturday. 1 PM. Bookman's. Wear Silly Hat. Find RPG Section.

I will endeavor to do so.

NiniriAZ
Aug 14th, '03, 03:26 AM
Um---there's one catch: I don't own any hats! Not a single one...

But ... I can wear a "loud dragon shirt" :)

I'll have to locate Bookmans, next.... but that's the easy part.

Niniri

I have a funny hat...and a loud surfy shirt. :)

Bookman's is on the North West corner, near the north end of the strip mall. There's a gym next to it on the very north end.

For the directionally challenged of course, that is on the left side of the road after you cross Southern (if coming from Chandler)

See ya! :)

NiniriAZ
Aug 15th, '03, 04:25 PM
My S.O. will be there, too, wearing an Orange County Choppers Hat.

And some kinda dragon shirt.

Well, it turns out to be a "quiet" dragon shirt....and S.O. is wearing an EQ shirt... :)

I'm looking to start up a FH game sometime in the very near future, sometime around the end of August - after GenCon.

Looking to host, around the 51 and Greenway in Phoenix. Is there any interest....

I'd love to. I want to be able to finally play a Hero game rather than run it (it's been since '95 since I've played (don't get me wrong, I've GM'd "plenty," for a Hero game), and at that time I was just learning the system). But for me, I've got two very young kids, and a gamer wife. So mobility isn't very possible for me. I guess just keep an ear out, and I'll keep in touch, though distant, until I have the ability to move around a bit more. There is a guy on the boards here (Wildcat) who runs a game on the east side, I don't know what his group is doing lately, though I think they were going to FH it.

I assume you were going to do your game in 6e, due to the waiting till after Gen-con?

I am very interested in playing. My personal hang up is I live in East Mesa, work graves, and have weekdays (nights off). The commute won't kill me (I lived in the Los Angeles area after all) but the "when" may prohibit me from joining. What do you have in mind in the form of days/time?

Jul 15th, '10, 08:59 AM
Depending On Times I might consider joining FH group. As for myself I run currently a four color superhero game every Saturday Evening from about 6 PM to 10:30 PM-ish (I know that not much time, trying to work around current groups schedules, could perhaps start sooner by a few hours).
Setting is in my Unique Campaign world that i use to run D&D in, and set in 'present day'.
Reason looking for new player is that my current group has slowly dwindling due to life changes LOL.
I not post often in forum, as work, mmogs, and saturday games keep me fairly busy.

I'm interested in your group Utensil but unfortunately your current play schedule is right in the middle of my work week. Please keep me in mind if your schedule changes as I'm always up for FH.

Wolf
Sep 10th, '10, 10:33 PM
I know at least since before '03 (when I moved back), but I never got in any of those groups... there is one that plays at the Game Depot in Tempe every week. Young kids too, the GM's father taught him on 5th ed. I think they now play 6th.

So, any HERO gaming these days in the East Valley, looking for players?

Or, alternately, anybody interested in joining a new forming Champions 6th edition game in the Mesa/Chandler/Gilbert area?

Hey FG. Our group is currently starting a new campaign. It's not Superheroes, per sae, but it is going to eventually involve paranormal abilities and such. We currently play every Wednesday and every other Saturday. If you're interested, send me a PM and also respond to this thread so the boards will email me a notice and I can check my PM's.

Cool?

We are currently looking for one or two more players for a Fantasy Hero game which meets Saturdays from noon till 6pm. We meet around Greenway and the 51, but we have players driving from Mesa and carpooling has been an option in the past.
