Recently, I have had a problem with getting Hero Designer to download properly. Dan Simon has been quite helpful, responding quickly to my communiques, making adjustments to server software, and spending a fair amount of time trying to help me. The fact that I have been unable to get it downloaded properly is entirely my fault. I'd have the program 4 times over by now if Dan had anything to say about it. He was entirely willing to continue helping me until we got it right, but the frustration level was taking its toll on me, so I decided to go a different route and order it on CD.

I've read things on these boards and on the Hero mailing list that malign Dan. I'm not going to pretend that I know what Dan is like based on the interactions we've had. I will say this: I haven't seen Dan respond to anyone in an INAPPROPRIATE manner. To the best of my knowledge, when he's been anything less than polite, it's because the other party was less than polite FIRST.

Dan, I am extremely happy with the service I've received from you, even tho our efforts didn't meet with success. You are every bit the match for the fantastic company that is DOJ, and I wish you much success.

*blush*

Hey, I'm just sorry that we couldn't seem to get the download going for you.....the offer to help is still open if you want, but I understand if the frustration is getting to you ;)

Anyway, just let me know if there's anything I can do for you once you've got the app.....

Thanks for the good wishes!

After I took my medication and had a visit to The Quiet Room, I took Dan up on his offer of continued support. This time, I tried downloading the file using IE instead of my usual Netscape. Worked like a charm. Opened with no problems. Installed like magic.

Thank you, Dan, for not giving up when I wanted to. I have you to thank twice, actually. Once, for making the program, and twice, for helping me to finally get it.

Okay, enough effusive praise! I'm off to play with it!
