Need an extra player, or want to get a group together?

I'm interested in playing CHAMPIONS in New York City -- specifically in Manhattan or Queens. I'm free weekend mornings and afternoons, and I would be willing to run or play.

If interested, send some email to sternum1 at mac.com or jkrause at wcs.org.

Ten million seething souls packed into a 10-mile radius, and noone plays CHAMPIONS? Unthinkable.

Tell me about your campaign idea. :D I haven't played Champions for a couple years, I stick mostly to Fantasy Hero, but I'm interested.

I'm also working on developing a network of players for Hero Games in NYC. Again, I will probably be focusing on Fantasy Hero, but will do some Champions Demos because of it's popularity.

I am in New Rochelle, NY but Neutral Ground in Manhattan may have a spot for us to play. Manhattan will probably be mid-ground for us. :D

Take Care,
David

I usually tailor campaigns to the players/characters, so I don't have any far-reaching plans at the moment. I was thinking something basic to start since we don't know each other -- the players would start as second-stringers to New York City's premiere super-team, only to be thrust into the spotlight after one or two sessions. The setting would be modern, but decidedly four-color.

But if that doesn't sound interesting, I'm open to other ideas, and I'm willing to play too. Having never tried Fantasy Hero, I'd love to try that as well. Basically, I'm just looking for a gaming fix.

As I mentioned above, weekends are best for me. I also have a friend who might be able to play.

Great about the friend. I have one character that I would play. I'll tell you about him over the phone or something. you can contact me.

I have many years of experience with hero games. I'm still getting used to the new changes in the 5th Edition, though. It doesn't seem too different.

Fantasy Hero is coming out soon, I guess. I won't start my campaign until it does. But we can start with Champions. If you want to run, that's fine. I can run as well. Anyway, email me and we'll take it from there. :)

Oh yes, Saturdays are fine with me. I'm thinking the 1st and 2nd Saturdays of the month. Don't think I can manage more then that.

Galadorn,

I am Sternum's friend. He said he hadn't heard from you about getting together. I believe he is out of town visiting family this week, so if he doesn't reply quickly that is most likely the reason. Both of us are looking to get a game going. I have played both FH & Champions for years (1983). I am up for either. Neutral ground has a fairly decent size gaming area. The trick is to avoid days that the cardboard crackheads are having tourneys. Anyway, hopefully we can all hookup and get a game or two going.

Nope if you're interested send me an email thought my profile. Maybe we can arrange something. Seems many people are out of town.

BTW if you live in Manhattan, maybe we could meet at your place. :D

Galadorn -- I sent you email a couple weeks ago, but it apparently didn't make it through -- perhaps a spam-blocker destroyed it. You should be getting some fresh email today, but if not, contact me at sternum1@mac.com.

HiLiph -- We should be getting some sort of game together around the first week of August. If you're interested in playing, contact me at sternum1@mac.com and I'll fill you in on the basics.

I would love to - but let's revisit this post-gencon. I have a new younglin' coming into the world around Aughst 11th, so I can't really commit to anything yet - except fatherhood!

Got it, sent you an email in reply. If you didn't get it let me know. Also, I will add you to my address book for email.

If other people have problems contacting me, let me know their email addresses, so I can set up a mailing list. Also, I will be running a Fantasy Hero Campaign, once to book is in my hot little hands. :D

It will be Tolkeinish, with a twist, well a major twist. ;) Based on a Fantasy Book Series I'm putting together. Great way to introduce players to the world of Eldwood, and get some feedback for the magic system I've developed from the book.

Second campaign I will run will be a medieval horror campaign, based on another book series I've been working on for a couple years. I will run each campaign about once per month, max, 4 hours per session. I have too much going on to do more then that.

Hi, folks!

I've recently returned to New York (living in Queens, working all over the tri-state area, mostly in Manhattan) after two years in New Hampshire and would love to get a group together. I've mostly GMed and would be willing to do so again, but will be happy to, and at this point would probably prefer to, just play. I have some ideas about an "Animated Justice League" campaign but it's nowhere near ready to go yet:
http://herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22125
I've played all sorts of genres: Supers, Fantasy, Giant Robots, Western, S/F (including Trek).

I can offer my apartment as the play space, as long as everyone is mature, comfortable with a smoke- and alcohol-free environment, and bathes regularly. My building is two blocks from a major public transit hub with both subways and busses, and not too far from the LIRR.

Send me a private message and I'll give you my email address.

Best wishes,
John H
