I was putting Vibora Bay into Hero Designerand got an error trying to save a character. In the name slot was AL "The Alligator Man" and when I tried to save HD came back with; Error Message: C:\Documents&Settings\Diashan\My Documents\Hero Characters\ AL "The Alligator Man".hdc (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect). I imedeatley did a new character named it and saved it just fine so it something to do with the name. I was hoping someone could tell me what.

Probably the double quotes.
The error is coming from your operating system...not HD. HD is simply trying to save the file with the name you're providing and your OS is returning an error.

Legal characters for DOS file names include the following:
Upper case letters A-Z
Numbers 0-9
Space (though trailing spaces are considered to be padding and not a part of the file name)
! # $ % & ( ) - @ ^ _ ` { } ~ '
Values 128-255Note that the double quote (") is not in the list.
EDIT: Yup. Dan beat me to it. :)
