View Full Version : Is this a power or a disadvantage?

Okay, my character is a bomb. a big one. in about 20 years he will unleash a 20d6 mental paralysis entangle (affects INT) with Area of Effect: Earth-moon. He cannot shoot it off earlier or later, and it will kill him instantly. The special effect is a riddle bomb (fills the head with 1,000 riddles and entangles you till you answer them all. most people will just die of starvation or thirst first.) The one thing he can do is send all the answers along with the riddles, effectively rendering the entangle moot. Either way, he dies.
So, if using a power destroys your character, and it is mostly independant, is it really a power? If it is what kind of limitation is "Side Effect: Dies instantly"? It's set so far in the future, I almost wonder if it's either, since it won't come up in gameplay. Unless some supervillian kidnaps him and figures out how to set it off early . . .

It is not a Power or a Disadvantage. It is a plot device, especially considering that it is not going to occur for 20 years.

It's an awfully interesting thing to have on your character sheet, but it's not worth any points one way or the other (although an evil GM might try to scare the character with a villain who claims to warp time to age people 20 years in just a second).

I agree with Monolith: Plot Device. No points.
