Hi! [smiles] I have a question about a character I'm trying to make. She's an enhanced human with hyper intelligence, and a growth problem. She's only 3 ft tall. She wanted to get into the super hero scene, and though she could have made a 3 foot tall suit of power armor, she wanted people to take her seriously, so, she went to the other end of the spectrum and constructed Behemoth. Behemoth's a 9 foot tall suit of battle armor, that she controls and operates from the chest cavity.

The only thing I'm wondering is, the new 5th ed rules seem to favor always on, inherent shrinking and growth powers as plain physical disadvantages, rather then just buying the power itself. So, I was wondering, if my hyper intellect battle suit character is 3 feet tall 'normally', then..do I put Physical Limitation: 3 ft tall...and then a second Physical limitation as 9 ft. tall? Of course, she's only 9 feet tall when she's in the battlesuit, and it's not 'her' perse, it's the battlesuit. So...I'm wondering how I go about it. The battlesuit is OIF, and can be damaged so...[puzzled] I'm a little stumped. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks! [smiles and waves]

Your best bet is probably an "3 feet tall" physical limitation with the frequency reduced by one category to reflect that she can climb into the armor .

Then buy the armor as OIF 0-END Inherent growth. The large size doesn't need a disadvantage, since it will have Always On (-1/2) .

Alternatively, you can make an "Awkward Size" physical limitation at full value to reflect never really being the right size for her surroundings.

You can decrease the value of the Physical Limitations to show the amount of time the character is in state. For example, 3 feet tall might be worth Frequent, Slightly, but due to the fact that the character is 9' tall so often the GM could rule that the Disad is only worth Infrequent, Slightly. The same goes for the Armor. Instead of 9' tall being All The Time, Greatly the GM could state that the value is Infrequent, Greatly to show that the character is not often affected by the problem.

So if I were the GM I would give the following:
3' Tall (+3" KB, 50kg): Infrequent Slight: 5 points.
9' Tall Armor (-2 DCV, +2 PER Roll): Infrequent Greatly: 10 points.

Then buy yourself 3" Knockback Resistance focused through the armor to offset the Physical Limitation penalty (the armor makes the character heavier).

You know, since she's either three feet tall out of armor or nine feet tall in armor, she's an unusual size all the time, either of which causes problems. How about just taking one Limitation, "Unusual Size, All the Time, Slightly Impairing?"
