View Full Version : Wolverine versus Doop
Tom McCarthy

I read issue 1 of Wolverine/Doop last week. Wolverine's a veritable unstoppable combat monster in the hands of some writers, a mean-spirited barroom brawler with delusions of grandeur other times. Doop's just plain an enigma. So does the author really expect us to believe Doop is capable of killing Wolverine or vice versa ?

Doop's the cameraman for X-Force / X-Statix. He looks like a flying lumpy green potato or peanut. And his boss is counting on him to neutralize Wolverine if he gets out of hand.

But just what pray tell can Doop actually do? What are his powers?

I vote Doop, even though I've never seen a comic book with him/her/it in it, have no idea what it looks like, where it's from, or what it's capable of.
I just don't like Wolverine.:D

what the heck? are me and Tom McCarthy the only folks on these boards who read X-Statix?
if you aren't reading it, and you like original and "fresh" takes on the whole superhero thing while still keeping in mind the defining aspects of a superhero, go buy it. the milligan/allred run begins in X-Force. the stories are collected in trade paperback. availabe at a store near you.
Doop is the camera man. He records the team as they save the world, so millions of screaming fans can watch their favorite heroes be larger-than-life on prime-time. He looks like a floating green booger. And he may or may not be the shadowy force manipulating the X-Statix "experience."
Other dimensions exist within him.
Vote for Doop.
