Entangle: nature of DEF

it's a basic issue but i didn't find any reference to it.

What's the nature of (resistant) DEF of a entangle.

i.e.
does the entangle take damage from a drain or a AVLD vs Power Defense, does body attack. this is the same issue for Flashs and AVLD vs Flash Defense (aside the "stops given sense" adder).
how to apply the DEF of the Entangle in that case ? is it ignored ?

Does the Entangle have the appropriate defense (e.g., Power Defense that’s been made Resistant)? If not, then yes, it takes damage; DEF is not Power Defense or any other type of exotic defense. As always, the GM can rule otherwise in the interest of common sense, dramatic sense, proper interpretation of special effects, and/or game balance.
