Yo!
I started using heroclix for maps during my game. Once I was introduced to maps and using figures I was totally hooked, much to the dismay of my pocketbook. I have a plan for an upcoming adventure involving Sentinel like robots but I can't find any sentinel sized Heroclix. The Sentinels themselves came out once but are very rare to find (I know, I've looked!). But I started thinking that there must be some kind of action figure or model for robots that would be an appropriate size. Does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any input.

Perhaps a gundham robot would work.

Toy store bargain bins. Anything roughly the right size works for giant robots, and there's frequently lots of action figures going for low prices, if you're not picky on which characters (after all, we're looking for scale here). Most will probably be smaller than the HC Sentinel (I think it's about 8-9" tall), but if all the ones you're using are the same approximate size, it shouldn't matter.

If you're up early on Saturday mornings, might be worthwhile to cruise a few yardsales. Sometimes can get some really useful props for literally pennies.

I have no idea about sizes...but doesn't WizKids make a BattleTech line of Clix? Some of them might be enough.

The MechWarrior (BattleTech) ones would be good for 8 foot tall robots, but not for something like Sentinels. Unless of course you use itty bitty figures to represent the heroes. ;)

Could also use standups. Get a Sentinel picture, print it out at an appropriate size on cardstock (or stick it on cardstock after printing), cut it out and make a stable base for it. Don't play around fans or strong breezes.

OH MY GAWD.

GI Joes?

Transformers? I've still got a box of Transformers in the attic! :)

How about some robot shaped Legos?

If you are using the Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals figures, then you might get away with using them for the 8' robot/battle armor. If you are referting to the MechWarrior figures, then the scale is way off.

there's the Marvel action figure line--one of the more recent series had pieces of a 16" Sentinel figure(Master Mold size in Hero Clix scale:eg: ) included with various other figures.

Just a few nights ago, a friend of mine was saying almost exactly the same thing - that he couldn't get his hands on Sentinel figures. I found it a bit odd, because I bought 3 of them several months ago.

I will say that I did just check ebay and found 4 listings for them (though admittedly one of them only had 34 minutes left, so may be gone by the time you read this). They aren't necessarily cheap (when I bought mine, I payed more than $35 each, as I recall), but they can be had apparently.
