Damage Shield

Sorry if this has been asked all ready but,

damage shield only comes up with defencive powers. I thought it an advantage for offensive powers. That's what the power example in the margine does.

And how do i get the cost of equipment to divide by five. I thought 1 cp got you 5 pionts to make equipment with??

Damage Shield is available for any Constant Power. Most Attack Powers are (by default) Instant. You need to purchase the Advantage "Continuous" before Damage Shield will be available.

As for the equipment cost, I have no idea what you are referring to. Equipment in heroic campaigns is free (which is why HD has an Equipment tab...there is no cost for items placed on that tab). In superheroic campaigns, characters pay full points for everything.

If you're thinking about a Base or Vehicle, then you purchase the appropriate Perk on the Perks tab.

Damage Shield is only available for Constant Powers. To make an Instant Power such as an attack Constant, you must buy the Continuous advantage. Once you have added Continuous to your attack Power, Damage Shield will be available in the Advantage list. This is explained in the "Modifier Intelligence" sidebar on page 13 of the Hero Designer documentation. This documentation is available by selecting "View Documentation" from the Help menu or by typing Ctrl-D.

All equipment is normally purchased at full cost. The only exception is vehicles and bases.
