After rereading my copy of Neverwhere and watching my set of BBC DVDs, I've been working on this project (on paper). My question is one of layout -- What would people want to see? How does this layout look? Did I miss any important points?

Well... that just took the wind out of my sails....

Makes me wonder if I should even bother.

No no no no no you should definitely bother *blowing noises and more blowing noises* Quick somebody get a wind machine!!! I meant to offer it up as a RESOURCE! Besides its D6 not HERO. That means lots of hard work and stuff. Not to mention the Mechanics of the Underside and World Above not being able to interact. Some kind of Social Invisiblity and all. Dangerous if you are trying to cross traffic. Besides I need the Stats on Mr. Krupp and Mr. Vandermarr for future campaigns. (Note; They have become standard assumed Identities by our GURPS Fantasy group).

Please do not stop because of that link.

And Susano? Yet another cool idea for a campaign.

Well, in the "What is Neverwhere" section you should try and include a look, however brief, at the "big picture" going on in the world. I mean apart from the other cities below, but to even include such things as the Angels, the City of Light, Demons, etc... And while it is never explicity stated, I think it can be infered that the world Neverwhere takes place in is the same world as the Sandman series and, quite possibily, the books American Gods and Anansi Boys.

Of course that could take things in a vastly different direction so maybe those things should only be mentioned briefly, and then expanded on in later supplements. Some kind of "Gaiman HERO".

I wrote the guy a letter asking about using his material as a basis for mine.

I'll see if he responds.

Your gamers would also have to be willing to play normals for the most part. Really immersing themselves in the Sub-Genre. Package Deals like those from Teen Champions.

The GMing section would have to have a lot of Urban Fantasy Cliches for Stories/Adventures/Scenarios etc...

How many Cities have an Underside? Speaking of which why did they not use the old WWII Bomb Shelters?

Again apologies if I winded you, but the Concept defeinitely needs more filling out than the D6 Version.

I think you may need to add a section covering Cross-Genres and sample characters. I would love to see your version of The Marquis de Carabas he Count.

Rat speakers should be easy, but the Underside Cultures should be interesting.

Please so not give up.

This is looking like a long-term project akin to SIlent Mobius Zeta.

As long as Usagi Yojimbo???

Yeah, which has higher priority.

Moscow Below. Nieder-Berlin. Under Paris.

Would any New World city have an undercity? I don't know how it works.

New York is specifically mentioned.

Ah. I've got to read Neverwhere again - I'll borrow my brother's copy next time I go home.

For me it would a hard decision, but then I just finished completing my Usagi Yojimbo TPB Collection and Usagi Yojimbo RPGs from Gold Rush Games and Sanguine Productions Ltd.

At Christmas our gaming group watched a marathon of Neverwhere. (I already had the book.)

It is all a matter of your priorities, not mine. I am just a huge...uhm... make that large fan of your Hero work. You should also be writing a Revision of Ninja Hero. IIRC you commented that you really like the Layouts of the later Hero Products Released. Mayhaps before they go for Reprinting you could get your hands on it to.

Then of course there is your KAZEI-5 for HERO System 5th Edtion Revised, but perhaps you would rather bug DOJ about Cyber Hero & Post-Apocolyptic Hero. (Both seem to have elicited response from you).

I am all for the Silent Mobius Zeta.

P.S.: What ever you decide I will definitely want to see it.

Neverwhere, like Bas-Lag is almost alternate-history urban setting with levels of darkness similar to Dark Champions. Although I'd say Neverwhere was low-fantasy and Bas-Lag high-fantasy urban.

A city needs to be old to have an undercity - an preferrably places to hide. I'm not sure about Australia - but I think I vaguely recall Hunter mentioning killing a beast here, possibly a Bunyip or something.

Mind you - in Australia, the entire Dreamtime could be used as Australia Below. And for that I recommend at having a look at some of the WildCard books with the Koori superhero, and Terry Pratchett's Lost Continent.
