Hi,

How does Extra Time interact with a power's END cost? (e.g. a healing spell that takes 1 minute to cast and costs 3 end.) Do you finish the casting and then pay 3 end? Pay the end at the beginning of casting? Do you get seg-12 recovers during the casting? Do you pay the end cost every phase during the casting?

As a (somewhat) seperate question, is Increased Endurance worth as much on abilities that are already really only useable outside of combat (because of Extra Time, or some other limitation)? (e.g. That same healing spell - If you pay the end only once for the spell - and the spell takes a full minute to cast, and therefore the spell will really never be cast in combat, is Increased Endurance still worth just as much as a limitation?)

Thanks in advance for your help. I was amazed to see how accessable you are in these forums. It makes me that much happier to play Hero Games and to buy your products!

1. As noted on 5ER 290, a character activating an Extra Time power pays END when he begins activating it. He doesn’t have to pay END multiple times, though — he’s only using the power once, it just takes a longer time to turn on. He still gets Post-Segment 12 Recoveries during the activation period.

2. There’s no rule that alters the value of Increased Endurance for “out of combat” abilities, but of course the GM can and should alter the value of a Limitation if he feels it won’t be as restrictive as it normally would be.
