Activation Roll on a stat

I have a character with a activation roll on part of his EGO, does the character get a activation roll for the additional EGO when attacked by a mental attack?

I believe the answer is yes.

He gets to make the Activation Roll whenever he wants to use the EGO that's subject to it, which probably includes any time he's attacked with a Mental Power.
