I checked out the copy I got today and looked at it a bit before leaving for work. It looks pretty good so far.

Did you get an advance copy or something? I just logged into the DH section and #35 is not listed.

If he was a contributor, he might have.

Yes. I have an article on the Moken Sea Gypsies in this issue. I assume it will be available for everyone else later today.

It does look good. I'm doing backflips of joy and happiness over the Baba Yaga art I got for Mythic Hero. :D

While I hope you're right about later today, this blurb on the homepage makes me think it'll be another week or two. :(

Digital Hero #35 should debut next month, since delays kept it from coming out in February. Look for the new issue soon!

Huh. Well, who knows.

Anyway, I'm wasting my break when I should be researching my next article. :)

I apparently do not have an article in there. :( (I know I have at least two waiting in Dave's queue....)

Yeah, the Baba Yaga art was really nice. The art for Kayli was taken from my site, but as it is for an older version of the character, it doesn't quite match the written description. If I'd known far enough in advance, I'd have tried to create a better version and/or ask around for a new pic for her.

Oh well... not a big deal. 'sides, she can unleash a 46d6 EB. She can look like whatever she wants. :D

I was pondering why I got this ish of Digital Hero, till I found my old Superhero Martial Arts artical hidden inside.

By the way, nice artical on the Nehkojin, Susano.

Thanks, I had a lot of fun writing it.

I'm particularly looking forward to the Nehkojin article; Michael knows some of the reasons why. :)

That reminds me...I don't think I got paid for the Superhero Martial Arts artical. Which is OK by me, since I don't think I gave enougth words to bring myself a decent paycheck from Hero anyways.

By the way, if thay realy want to pay me...free books would be nice ;)

May I suggest contacting Tina of Darren about this via private email?

Quite right. I'm going to wait about a week before I do so (just in case the mail is slow).

Well, I know they pay me! It's just that they're a little behind schedule and you have to wait a certain amount of time before any money actually accrues to you. :) Minimum time is one year, but you do get a check eventually. I haven't seen an advance copy yet, but I think Mr. Mattingly's email hates my email.

I beleve Mr. Mattingly's email hates all email.

As for the wait for the check, I can wait it out. I only brought it up because of the principal.

As for the guy who helped Nighthawk out in my pose piece, I realy don't know who he is, but mark my words man, as soon as I find out, I'll tell you.

(Gee...I realy don't beleve I acualy got away with putting him in the pose piece. It was not my best one even.)

If they send me a check it'd be nice, but I submitted my articles for the enjoyment value rather than as a money making scheme. ;)

As a note, my velocity article got accidentally truncated. It should be fixed by the time the issue goes live.

I did some artwork a while back but I was moving around a lot when it came time to get paid. Long story short, no money. Sent a couple of emails but the money did not really matter that much to me. Truth be told I just liked doing the work even though I was in horrible pain while I was doing it. (Had a bad medical condition that has now been brought under control)

I write for the by-line, not for the money. I usually turn the money around and invest it into new books. For that reason, I don't concern myself with when I get paid.

I've been getting paid in the form of discounted Hero books and merchandise, which makes for more material to base my own writing ideas on... and so more articles, and so more merchandise....

As badly as I need the cash right now, this is still a pretty sweet deal. To tell the truth, I write my stuff mostly to give more support to the Terran Empire campaign setting, and possibly eventually get a new book-cover byline.

I've been getting paid for DH stuff in HERO books as well.

As for writing for DH... I do it for the by-line, the experience, and the chance to be asked to do more HERO book writing.

Similar here. I have some stories I want to publish someday. That means developing a writing resume. I don't write for Hero Games because I want to establish a writing resume. However, getting a writing resume while at the same time developing my editing skills is good for me. I find myself writing more often. In fact, while I have normally been reserving my after work time to play Civ IV, I plan on writing the start of my new article.

Gee...I opened up a can of worms. I also cair more for the experence, the by line, and wanting to work on bigger and better books. The cash is nice, but I should acualy be paying Hero, for having them edit my spelling.

Worms, shmerms. When you get right down to it, we all write for Hero because we love the system and the company, and we want to support them.

I hate to be a suck up, but that is so true. We only want what's best for this company, and it's products. Mostly because not only are we the authors, but the comsumers of the procduts as well.

By the way, what does eveyone think about my Superhero martial Arts artical? I know two martial arts makes the artical rather thin. The original artical also included a martial art I called "Rising Sun Shield Martial Art", a subset or Karatie used by the old WW2 "supervillian" (acualy, an honable super solder from Japan) named Yamato (BKA in the west "Rising Sun"), who was basicly an anime Caption America, and Malvian Gladiator Combat Arts. I thought Rising Sun was a bit to much, and Malvian Gladiator was rather weak in development. I might eventuly redesign and recreate both martial arts in a son of artical, along with prehaps a few new martial arts.

Humm...what other 'superhero' martial arts should I add to the Son Of artical? "Tail Smasher" (designed for thoes with tails, no mater what the orgin)? "Analyzer" (a combat style for the 'so I hit him here' smart guy)?

Does anyone know if my article got updated? The updated version should be more than 3 pages long.

I added more of your revised material, but I only had three pages allocated. I filled all three with as much as I could, but had to cut some.

The cover thumbnail in the digital hero section seems to be broken.
Is it broken for anyone else?

Yes! Yes it is!

Same here.

Personally, though, I'm more interested in what's coming up in #36. :bounce:

(Especially if Dave's going to include The Alien Elite....) ;)

Dave if you need any more art for upcoming issues let me know and I'll do some more.
