As noted in today's news update:
Once again you, the gaming fan, have a chance to make your voice heard! This year’s Pen And Paper Awards are now open for voting at:
http://www.pen-paper.net/awards.php
We encourage you to go vote! I think Hero produced some great products in 2005 that deserve notice, especially Pulp Hero and Villainy Amok.

You know, whenever I do one of these I like to be able to fill in every category - but I honestly can't this year. My actual gaming has been so infrequent this year that, except for the new Hero books, I've not bothered really even looking at any of the new rpg products out (not having a local game store to go to really puts of crimp on keeping up with new stuff). What are some of the actual "new" RPGs and new licensed stuff that's come out this year?

can someone post a list of what HERO did in each category... ?
I think I know the DOJ product line, but I don't look at it
from the viewpoint of the awards.

To get an answer for that, I'm afraid you'd have to ask the people who run the awards -- I'm not sure exactly what criteria, if any, they apply to such determinations.
Using my own common sense (take that as you will ;) ), I don't consider any of our 2005 releases "RPGs" because they don't stand on their own. Therefore we have no entry for the "Best RPG" category. I, for example, voted PH for "Best RPG Supplement." I also voted VAmok for Best Adventure -- even though it doesn't necessarily fit the standard definition of "Adventure," I think it's sufficiently close that it's worth putting in that category instead of "Supplement."

Okay. That's what I ended up putting down.
Good thing it lets you submit some categories as blank.

Most such awards these days don't seem to require complete voting. I think they recognize that not everyone knows or cares enough about each category to want to vote for every single one.

Voted.
Funny how many things I found to put the name "Steven S. Long" under. That guy better be good, or I'll be pissed I wasted my votes.

All votes appreciated, and thus not wasted. ;)

You rang?
Anyway, your assessment is pretty much dead on. Pulp Hero would go in the Supplement category, while for Villainy Amok, being a book of adventure seeds is qualification enough for the adventure category.
And yes, I fully expect most people to leave some blanks.

With his mighty battle cry of "Is @n@l-retentive hyphenated?" Obsessive Compulsive Lad slinks off into a corner and frets over the blanks he left in the form...

Ex-cellent (to quote Monty Burns). Glad to see we can get the word straight from the gentleman in charge. ;)

Cool - voted for the products and for Steve as applicable. Being a voter in Chicago area, I'm sure my ballot magically changed into a vote for Richard Daley.

LOL. Too bad Daley never designed any games (other than the world-renowned Ward Politics board game) or he'd clean up!

You've got the Bunny's vote!
Bill.
(Which, if the world were fair, would be worth at least 500 normal persons' votes). ;)
