Dan has said that Hero Designer would work on Palm OS if the Palm had Java 1.4.1 or greater (I may be wrong on that version number, but I think that's was it was), had 128MB of Memory and was the equivilant of a PII 200. I am assuming that the same holds true for the Pocket PC. My question is: I'm rather new at the whole Pocket PC thing and I have no idea how I would load either the Java or HD. I have a relatively new Pocket PC with the latetest version of the OS, and I have a 256MB Secure Digital Memory card, can anyone who has more experiance with them, tell me how to put HD on my Pocket PC?

That was a little bit of a facetious response as no such thing exists for Pocket PCs yet....

Checkmate-

The 256MB Secure Digital Memory card that you have for your Pocket PC is not memory in the same sense as RAM for a PC. That is the hard drive for your Pocket PC.

The Java used on Pocket PCs is the micro edition and it is a lot different than standard Java. Pocket PCs also lack 128 MB of RAM and aren't as powerful as any PIII system.

So basically, the Pocket PC fits almost none of the requirements to run Hero Designer.

Hmm. In the Pocket PC if you go to memory it has a slider that you can move from more storage to more running programs, so I thought it's storage could be converted to RAM. It also says that it's 400Mhz, is this a different rating than a PC.

I'll just shut up and go feel stupid in a corner somewhere.

The memory is still not the same as RAM (it's insanely slow comparatively and functions very differently).

The processor is a completely different rating....the Pocket PC is WAY underpowered.

And there is nothing even remotely approaching Java2 version 1.4.1 for a Pocket PC

Has anyone tested HD on a tablet PC? I know it runs the same Windows XP, but I was wondering how it would look when switched to book view (AKA landscape).

Tablet PC, anyone use Hero Designer with one? Does it look ok in landscape (book) mood?
