I was wondering how I woudl go about getting the Name field for a perk to display on an exported sheet.

I have a character that has the perk money with the following listed:

Name: Family Wealth & Stolen Goods
Display: Money
Options: Wealthy

It displays in HD as:
Family Wealth & Stolen Goods: Money: Wealthy

when I export using a template it displays under the perks like this:

Perks
10 Money: Wealthy
Notes: 8 Million Credits
5 Money: Well Off
Notes: 500, 000 Credits Per Year

From what I can tell the <!--PERK_TEXT--> doesn't display the name field for perks. Is this correct? If so why is it there if it doesn't get printed with the character? I know I can just update the Display Field but I am kind of wondering why the name field is there. IF I am totally wrong and there is a xml tag i can use to show this value please tell me.

Most likely the export template doesn't have the name tag in it. Try the Writer's Guidelines template and see if it displays correctly. If it does then you need an export template that includes the Name tag.

The name field was originally only available for Powers and Equipment. This is when most of the export templates were created. I added in support for the name field in all of the abilities a (relatively) short time ago. As the export templates are updated, the field will show up in them.

If you want to do it on your own, it's part of the standard IF_NAME ... NAME ... /IF_NAME series of tags that all containers can have.

Hi Gents,

I'll have to tweak the export templates from Derek. I tweaked them to fix this issue in my own campaign but I should upload them for the rest of Herodom...

Ok...try this...

I updated Derek's Champions3-Column template (i.e. my personal favorite) with the names of Skills, Perks, and Talents. If everyone thinks it looks ok I'll send it on to Ben.
