Hi all, just need some feed back for a new section of my website. Recently I have been rereading some of my Howard and Lovecraft stories and thus have gotten into a Pulpy Horror mood. So as I decided to try to write a horror scenario and a random title generator(and anything else with a pulp horror leaning). So tell me what you think, especially about the generator, which I plan to turn into a DH article...

Looks good. The cover looks a little more like a romance novel than pulpy horror, without something more blatantly horrible on it.

What font did you use on the inside?

Needs a sinister deformed thug wielding a hot branding iron.

The best pulp covers (and 1940's Captain America covers) always had a the female being menaced by a sinister deformed thug wielding a hot branding iron

I agree with you about the cover, about the only thing I could of otherwise have done is to get an actual pic from the period. Maybe something of Finley's work (see below).

As for the Font it is called Attic. This is where I grabbed it...

Thanks for the comments so far, As long as time permits tomorrow, I should be able to get more done on the scenario.

Repped! :)

The link to Dark Profile doesn't seem to be up yet.

Unfortunately it is not because I am trying to get the scenario done first. The Dark Profile will be a villain I and a friend created in the early 90's and will be mentioned in the scenario. But more will be mentioned once I get that far:D Also thanks for the encouragement, I hope to get the scenario and the profile done ASAP.

Ahh that would be nice, unfortunately I do not own the full version of Adobe only the version that allows one to view PDFs..... Thanks for the comment though Sketchpad:D

Is that picture (of the man hypnotizing the woman) copyrighted or public domain?

Download OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org. Any document you create with it can be directly converted to PDF. And it's free!

Chapter Two has been added... Yay!!!! Boy writing scenarios are fun and hard at the same time. Just so you all are forewarn, I may not post anything before Saturday as tomorrow will quite busy for me. I am going to see Andre Rieu live in concert at the Iowa Event Center:D

As I've said before on many occasions, designing and writing scenarios is (or at least can be) simultaneously one of the easiest and most difficult types of RPG creation work. So hang in there! ;)

Creepy without being overwhelmingly powerful. Very nice work. (Potential players in my games or my wife's - depending on uses it first - may not, however, thank you...)

Very nicely done! I really enjoyed reading through it. And I especially liked the way you laid out the pages so that it is almost like reading a pulp novel.

Very nice adventure:

Any chance you might post some character creation guidelines for those of us who are HERO novices?

For example how many character points and disadvantage points for each member of a party of 4, and how many points for a party of 1 character.

I would probably say a party of 4 character from 50-75 Base/50-75 Disadvantages. One person it would be possible but I really couldn't say for sure on the total.

Remember , you can't go too far over the top in a Pulp cover !;)

Wow I am glad you liked it. Let see three things needs to happen before I can do another. One: is I need to get some long over due things off my plate including redesigning my website, finishing writing an J-Horror scenario and getting back into AotM. Two: is I need to read alot some pulp horror to get my mind working in that direction again. Finally the most important one, inspiration. If I can pull those three off, then you might see a new HHM. Thanks again.......

For whatever you may be working on, there are numerous options for creating PDFs these days. I know that OpenOffice was suggested. One of the easiest options is a PDF "printer" that allows you to print from any application and it will create a PDF from the output.

One free, open source version of this is PDFCreator. It can be found at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/. There are numerous other, similar programs available as well.

Let's hear it for AotM!

Which, btw could certainly have a bit of Pulp Horror added to it. I'll keep your interest in mind. Ginny Thompson got pulled away for SOMETHING, after all!

Either way, I enjoyed your magazine... To the EXTREME!
