I am working on a steampunk-and-sorcery based setting using the HERO system for its rules. Rather than invoking "rubber physics", I shot for an origin for the setting which I think is fairly interesting.

The reason I am posting here is simple: I want to see if people are interested in contributing ideas to it. I am not trying to publish something commercial, only crank out an interesting setting. For those who are interested, please check it out:

This is a Wiki, which means if you think of something that should appear, you can simply add it.

Finally, if this is an inappropriate post, please tell me :) I see a lot of requests for feedback on characters and powers here; rarely do I see people soliciting contributions for an entire setting.

Under Technology.

The way that the nanobots can be incorporated into technology if the inventors will is strong enough greatly suggests that a working difference Engine could be produced. (mechanical computer.)

Interesting idea BTW. great potential. Is it going to be a heroic level game or superheroic?

I'm working on the "Characters" section now, explaining the options for heroic vs. superheroic level games in the setting.

As far as a "rod logic" or Difference Engine-style mechanical computer, that's very appropriate and in-genre. It should certainly be possible even without the nanobots' interference, but if done with them it would probably work better. :)

I voted "has potential" and to clarify I'm over-committed as it is right now so I can tell you I can't contribute, but would be interested in seeing it. Would like it if you continued to post in this forum on it. Best of luck!
