View Full Version : Odd error message w/ VPP slots.

Hello!

I was adding slots to a VPP (for sample powers, etc.) and I started seeing a warning message on every slot added. The message read: "This purchase puts the total points used over the available points for the character."

In addition, when I clicked on the checkbox to not see the message again, it had no effect. The message kept appearing.

The character and campaign rules used are attached.

Edited to Add: Apparently, the "This purchase..." won't go away at all, even in normal, justified circumstances.

What version/build are you running? The repeating error messages (when clicking "Do not show this again") was fixed in the last update.

I was running the May 17th version. I just updated to the latest -- it fixed the repetition of the error message, but didn't address that adding 0 point slots to the VPP calls up the error message.

Because there's no way of knowing if the item is going to remain in the VPP or not. You've told the app to let you know when the points available are exceeded, based on what it's seeing (immediately before the ability is added in), they have been. Turn off that warning, if you need.

No, no, it's not a huge deal. It just seemed odd that it would flag at that point. It seems that it would make more sense for the flag to come up when the ability actually costs points, rather than when it doesn't.

Like I said, not a big deal, just a minor usability concern.

Thanks for your prompt reply, as always!
