Has anyone else noticed that the second most popular genre doesn't have a source book for sale?

FH had to be moved from one printer to another, which is delaying the reprint. In the meantime, we're fixing up the typos- when it does come through we'll send out a big notice to everybody. dw
FH is of course still available in PDF form in the Online Store. :)
(I prefer my waters calm.) ;)

I wouldn't be a GEO if I liked a still pond, after all the reflection is a bit disturbing...

Just buy the 1st or 4th editions off ebay. I prefer them, actually, to the 5th ed phone book.

I asked Darren about this in his chat tonight...
He hasn't confirmed anything, and this is not official, but he did say he'd like to try to get the reprint done by this fall.
again - not official, not confirmed.

I'm assuming Fall = Autumn?
When's Autumn? :D
I am certainly looking forward to it coming out, and am torn between buying a to be revised PDF or waiting...

I also know they've mentioned updating it to 5ER - so you may want to hold out. Me? I'm always surprised how grateful I am that i have printed copies of the books I need. I can't imagine the insanity caused by possibly NOT having them. There'd be insanity. When i couldn't get UMA, there WAS insanity.

Is there anything new on the status of FH? I'm not real big on .PDFs. :idjit:

Same here. I just can't say why, but the "phone book" just doesn't cut it.
There is more "feeling" in the 4th edition and even in the 1st. Not to speak of a setting and two adventures in each of them.
That's right: With one third of the pages 4th edition gives you a setting, two adventures a great compilation of genre settings, adventure ideas and one of the best essays on fantasy gaming that I've read so far: "Confessions of a hack and slash junkie".
Greta stuff! One shoud by the 4th edition because of that one alone.
More is not always more ...

More is not always more ...Of course more is always more. And the best way to get more is to kill things and take it. :eg:

It's funny how tastes differ. I think 5ed Fantasy Hero is one of the best 5ed books. The world building stuff is great idea fodder.

I, of course, have no other Fantasy Hero editions to compare with, but I love me my phone book. :)

I've owned all versions of FH and I have to say I prefer the 5e version. However, it isn't for players at all.
Being that fantasy is one of the, if not the, most popular genre in rpgs, a FH Sidekick would be great. All of the player bits from FH plus the Sidekick rules. $20-$30 and that's all you need. Maybe with a primer section for Turakian age.
The GM buys the phone book and the players buy just the stuff they need.
