I've mentioned this in a couple of threads, but I thought for the fantasy forum, it should get own thread.

I'm not sure how you would stat up those frog guys on page one...or the little pterodactyl guys...but it would be amusing to see some stats.

Catspaw is written by John C. Hocking, illustrated by yours truly.

The comic has been up for a couple of weeks. This week? New "cover" and page 7 up on Catspaw! The fight in the rain continues!

Nice. How did you decide on the size of the page?

See? This is why I hate young webcomics. I get through seven pages which I read all too fast because I'm word based, and not images based, and BLAM. Page 7. Feh.

Nice artwork, though, Storn.

Hey. Its free.

If folks want more content per week, pony up some donations. As is, this is a HUGE undertaking for me. I'm doing it out of love of fantasy and sequential story telling. But I'm not going to do more than a page a week, unless i start getting paid.

and you might want to wait 4 weeks... the fight scene has no words and lasts a while.

Well you have me hooked already, reminds me of a lot of gaming sessions. In town less than a day and already in a fight...heh

I think the world needs a word for that jarring crunch when you run out of the archives and are stuck with the update schedule, whatever it may be :)

Really enjoying it so far. There aren't enough fantasy comics out there in general, let alone a free one, on the web, of this quality!

Dear Sword and Sorcery readers:

Page 8 of Catspaw did go up on Wednesday, but I've been on the road and only got time to get to the keyboard to bang out this update.

Come check it out!!

Storn: didn't mean to imply it wasn't very good, or that I didn't enjoy it. Simply, I'm ready to really get into it and... then I'm trapped waiting for the next installment. I will wait a few more weeks. I would donate, but I'm broke. :D

We are up to page 9. The fight continues and finally ends. Plus cool links to John C. Hocking's other short story tales set in the same world on the "back cover" page.

In the next fight scene a minor character in the background only identified by the nickname "monster" will suffer a brutal and terrible death :)

Two: The latest Catspaw, the fantasy webcomic, page is up! Chapter 2, page 2 is the latest. We had some technical difficulties yesterday and we apologize for it.

A new Catspaw page went up today! We are up to Page 6 in Chapter 2. Things are about to get really tense as the chase for the assassin is leading to some unknown destination.

I've been bouncing back and forth between Painter and Photoshop. These nocturnes I'm mostly doing in Photoshop. The lettering is done in adobe Illustrator.

Storn, is there anyway to directly bookmark "the latest page"? Every time I go to see what's up, I have to start from the beginning of the chapter and futz around until I find the latest page.

Click the link he posted and right at the top it says Added: and there is a link to the latest page.

Well that helps, but it's still not direct. I'd like to add it to my list of Wednseday webcomics. I load them all in tabs with one command. It would be nice not to have to click an additional link when I get there.

I'll have to burn those calories on the extra click then, I guess.

I've been lax in updating people on the latest pages of Catspaw. Been fighting colds, deadlines and such.

However, today, page 15 of Chapter 2 has gone up, concluding Chapter 2.

Y'all might have noticed that there haven't been any new Catspaw pages.

Unfortunately, Catspaw is going on hiatus. While I'm continuing to work on Chapter 3, we need to create a more complete website to host Catspaw. We want to have a more integrated site, possibly showing the pages a bit larger on the screen, maybe forums, blog for John C. Hocking to wax forth and of course, the inevitable merchandice. <g>

We are looking towards launching at the beginning of the year. This will give us all time to spend with our families over the holidays and give me some time to get a few pages in the can. Each Catspaw page is really a time consuming endeavor.

So, watch this space for the website address, and thank you for being patient.
