A favorite quote of one of my players.

I am putting together an NPC team and have an idea based on the mythical character of Phaeton. Per www.pantheon.org :

The son of the sun-god Helios . When Phaeton ("the shining one") finally learned who his father was, he went east to meet him. He induced his father to allow him to drive the chariot of the sun across the heavens for one day. The horses, feeling their reins held by a weaker hand, ran wildly out of their course and came close to the earth, threatening to burn it. Zeus noticed the danger and with a thunderbolt he destroyed Phaeton. He fell down into the legendary river Eridanus where he was found by the river nymphs who mourned him and buried him. The tears of these nymphs turned into amber. For the Ethiopians however it was already too late: they were scorched by the heat and their skins had turned black.

Kind of lends itself towards 'fire guy', but I've done the Human Torch and the pyrokenetic. Does the learned panel have any suggestions?

I thought Igni was the Greek fire god. Generally, I don't like to name characters after classical characters with such tragic stories. Of course that does limit my options quite a bit. I don't know if I agree with the statement that every team needs a fire guy. But I've rarely seen a team without a brick.

Base his powers around the classical Phoenix. Say that where he was buried was the site of a pphoenix's funeral pyre and when it was reborn, it inadvertantly empowered him as well with its fire and rebirth abilities. And, since the birds live about 500 years or so long before dying out, this is the perfect way to make him young and inexperienced- he is the current reincarnation who has just recently learnt of his powers due to some sort of trauma at birth that submerged his memories.

Energy caster wise, my team tends to be partial to
electric casters.
