Hi,

I've noticed my FOLGS now has Everyman available, but I have yet to run down any information on the content beyond the blurb in the online store. Can anyone give me an outline of exactly what is in there so I decide whether to get it, pay less and get a PDF or wait for the Ultimate Skill before making my next Hero purchase.

NB: I don't actually play superhero genre, so the book's usefulness with DC and Pulp Hero would be most interesting. I figured this was the best board to try as it is officially a Champions book.

Thanks in advance!

The only thing I know for sure from Steve's weekly chats is that it has no character writeups. Just character descriptions of various people and professions.

To be precise: there are no full character sheets. Each character gets a character brief, plus of course a textual description. To say "there are no writeups" isn't correct. There just aren't any writeups with point costs. ;) AFAIK it's the first book ever published for the HERO System that has absolutely no math in it.

In re: the original question, here's a quick excerpt from the Introduction:

Everyman divides the many sorts of NPCs into seven walks of life, each covered by a single chapter: At The Office, where you can find formidable bosses and nosy co-workers to populate a workplace; In The Media, where newspaper reporters, anchormen, actors, singers, and the like can make the PCs’ lives easier, more difficult, or just more enjoyable; Law And Order, the world of cops, courts, inspectors, and legislators that crimefighters so often brush up against; On Campus, the home of students, academics, professors, and other NPCs whose knowledge may help or hinder the PCs; My Life As A Hero, a wide variety of characters whose lives relate directly to superheroes, such as butlers who work for superteams or a doctor who treats heroes’ special injuries; My Life As A Villain, NPCs who have some special relationship with one or more supervillains; and Among The Multitudes, a catch-all for NPCs who don’t fit into any other category well (including that staple of comics, the aged or weak relative whom the hero has to look out for).

Thanks, chaps.

Looks like it might make my PDF list once that format is available.

This just begs to be a banner on the main page:

 Then those stats above the text are really Latin instead of Math?

All in all, its a great book.
