Just curious if there are anymore Herophiles who have been bitten by the CRPG bug like me. I've been playing alot of NWN, and I'm currently DMing a campaign in the guild that I'm a member of. Just curious if anyone else is into it, because I'm always on the lookout for new ideas. Thanks!

This freaked me out for a minute. At the game shop where I work most of the money comes in from Collectable Card Games (Magic) and Collectable Minitures Games (Clicky games). So I see C in front of something I think collectbale... Collectable Role Playting Games.. What?!?!!?

Just got NWN, though I'll be leaving it alone until the end of the month. (Finishing up a contract, yada yada) Just had to get the Linux Client up and running. So far so good.

I did stints in a lot of the major games. Short stints. I'm burned out on the whole thing now.

I did a massive amount of playing of EverQuest in it's beta stages, and had fun, but all good things come to an end. Well, except for the guy I was playing alongside, who actually went to work for the company.

I had a friend at Blizzard offer to get me into the Worlds of Warcraft beta test, but I declined, leaving it to much more rabid individuals than myself.

NWN was all the hype when it was coming out. Then when it was released, everyone who downloaded the GMing tools declined to run. So it never caught on with my group.

I was really digging NWN, and I suppose I still am. I just haven't played games with other people yet. I played the original NWN, then I downloading the highest rated modules that people have created and posted on the net, but that's about it. My FTF game has started to pick up, so I haven't had quite the need that I did before.

How does it go playing with a regular group? This whole guild thing sounds kind of wierd to me.

I used to play it quite a bit, but now I only play in one weekly campaign. I am looking forward to the new expansion pack and might even write up a module, but I haven't had the time or interest lately to play around with it too much. Think I played it too much and got a bit burned out.

when it first was available for sale in NZ (last year july the 3rd.- I remember cause we clocked it on my birthday 6days later) my group had a large LAN, playing for about a week non stop until we finished it. Can't wait for the expansion.

I also love playing and creating my own modules. I think My favorites have to be the Penultima series (its like Pratchett except I can play!) and the Witch Works Series (technically not fan made.)

I picked up the expansion last night, but I am weak, I decided to sleep and be ready for work as opposed to playing it all night.

Now that I work and have money to spend, I don't have time to play the games I buy, but when I was in school I didn't have money, but I had plenty of time. Of course in school we also had a network which decreased the need for money when it came time to purchase games.

Neverwinter Nights is OK, but the best D&D game is Baldur's Gate saga. Too bad that Harn CPRG never came out. I waited it with great interest.

NWN is great. I just finished the SoU expansion.

I'm amazed at all the modules that the community has created.

I just need to find the right group that fits my schedule and RP style to play in a campaign.

Check out WWW.KOTHWORLD.COM

Its a great PW world entering into its final beta stages. Requires some big downloads, but it is far and away the most unique and story driven persistant world module in the NWN community. Lots of mod's and stuff to make it very close to our pen and paper roots, but still very much a blast!

I haven't had much of a chance to play SoU yet, but just from the manual they dealt with a couple of the biggest problems I had with NWN -- the single biggest being the Tumble Skill. The fact it was missing in NWN proved to me that nobody behind it ever actually played a rogue in 3rd Edition D&D. While I like the addition of the Prestige Mechanic (potentially one of the best things about 3D&D, although the execution has been somewhat lacking), I'm disappointed that the included PrC's are so narrow.

I liked nwn very much, even got a Fighter (Kurtz Krigeren) up to 20 level! I have only played it solo though, since I don’t have internet no more :(
I felt that some of the fan modules you could download from Bioware were often better than the official adventure.
Thing I did not like:
Only 20 levels.
When you reach 20 level there is an xp cap. It would be cool just to have something to show to other players.
To many humanoid monster, no manticorticas, ballisks, wyverns or beholders foreksample.
The graphics was great but the design of the monsters was too cartony in style. Look at the orks and the werewolf’s forinstance.
The new kobolds and gnolls was a step in the right direction though.
The very long and boring first campaign in the town.
The weird style of weapons and armour in the official campaign. Diablo 2 had much cooler weapons and armor.
The campaign ended a little abruptly for my taste.
Things I liked;
Great music! Great sound effects I especially liked the bugbears roars.
The story was good and I liked the fact that only the player characters had all the pieces of info about what had happened in the end.
But the best thing about nwn was that you could customize your own adventures and weapons and monster and modules and…. Well you get the idea.
