Okay I was trying to organize all my RPG books the other day and got to noticing that I have aquired quite a few, some that i haven't even read.

And i was just wondering how many RPG books everyone has and what systems. Do you have the same problem I do where to put all of them, currently I have 5 shelves full and starting on a 6th.

Our group meets at my house and we have acquired two 3’ x 7’ book shelves full of game books and accessories. There are quite a few books that are considered “group property” and all of that is in those book shelves plus I have no ideal of how many character folders that is no longer being played but just can’t be tossed for sentimental reasons.

We have everything from Hero (of course), Battletech, D20 system, Meta Barons (which was never played), Star Trek, Rifts plus many more.

Lessee ... on the 'active' shelf:
About 50 books of various d20 flavors
About 20 HERO 5th books.

My 'inactive' shelves include pre-3rd Edition D&D books, 4th Edition HERO books, some WEG Star Wars books, and the Marvel Super Heroes books from both SAGA and Universal Table versions.

I have FRED, The Ultimate Martial Artist, and VIPER.
Anyone want to make a charitable contribution to the "Get me HERO Books" fund?

Okay I was trying to organize all my RPG books the other day and got to noticing that I have aquired quite a few, some that i haven't even read.

And i was just wondering how many RPG books everyone has and what systems. Do you have the same problem I do where to put all of them, currently I have 5 shelves full and starting on a 6th.

I have about 325+ gaming books (excluding magazines like Dragon, Dungeon, Pyramid, Autoduel Quarterly, etc).

Roughly half of those are for GURPS. Maybe 24-30 are AD&D/D&D/d20 (including modules). About 20 are Traveller/MegaTraveller/Traveller:New Era. My d6 Star Wars has about 10-12 books (including modules). Other systems where I have at least four books include: Traveller 2300, Talislanta, Call of Cthulhu, Battletech/Mechwarrior and Pendragon.

I'll add that I've been collecting since 1983 and that a significant number of those books were aquired at well under cover price (comps for playtesting, bought used, marked down). Frex, my most recent purchase, The Everlasting: Book of the Fantastical, was bought for $2 unused, down from the $37 cover price.

I used to have a ton of stuff dating back to the `70s, but I cleaned out most of them several years back; I've never been much of a collector, so books I don't use are just taking up space as far as I'm concerned. Also we have a local for-charity game convention, and every year I donate some of the "back shelf" items to their fund-raser auction.

So basically I have one shelf worth of Hero stuff (not *quite* one of everything, but I'm working on it) and one "everything else" shelf, which includes:

D&D Player's Handbook v3.5 (the only WotC product I own)
Several Arcanis books (d20 fantasy setting from Paradigm Concepts)
Spycraft Core Rulesbook (not the new edition)
Savage Worlds (never played it, but thought it looked interesting)
GURPS Traveller
Assorted spaceships, alien worlds, etc books from various SF games (for conversion to Star Hero, natch)
The complete Dark Conspiracy line from GDW (lousy rules, but I loved the setting)
Assorted Call of Cthulu and other horror stuff I mined for source material
A few odds & ends, like Palladium's Weapon Compendiums, an old D&D v2 Castles book, and some miscellaneous Judges Guild stuff I still use now and then.
Oh, and my old copy of the Chainmail rules (3rd Ed) - my sole nostalgia book.

[Edit: And Morrow Project - can't forget Morrow Project!]

I bought Champions: New Millenium for a buck yesterday so now my collection is complete.

Considering I used to get comped books from many publishers I have heaps, and heaps that I have not read.

Total? I really have no idea. But if you go to this (http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38441) thread, you'll see a photo of one of my sets of gaming bookshelves in the first post. And a bit later in the thread, a few people make a game of trying to identify the various systems, expansions, and so on. Fun stuff. ;)

Actually, I try not to think about it too much, as it forces me to realize how much money I've spent on them. I have just about everything ever published for every version of Hero System, more xD&D stuff than I care to remember, an astonishing number of GURPS books (and I've never actually played GURPS), a nice pile of Rolemaster/MERP/Spacemaster stuff, most of the SPACE 1889 books, all of first edition Cyberpunk, large portions of DC Heroes and DC Universe, a bunch of Marvel (FASERIP and SAGA), a few Silver Age Sentinals and M&M books, a sampling of World of Darkness books, and the list goes on and on and on.

I'm sure I could build a pile of 500+ books and then still go find more hidden in my basement.

5ed, lots of DC Heroes stuff, most of the AD&D 2nd edition books. But tons of character sheets for Champions.

But tons of character sheets for Champions.

Don't you mean tons of champions characters. You have characters that are older than I am.

Dude you know that isn't true, you were born before 1982.
