I was surprised to see the UMA plugin for MC (yeah, I know, it's been out there a while now).

What is DOJ's position on, for example, Hero Bestiary .chrs for MC? Or other Ultimates package plugins for MC?

I'm not even proposing to do one (although I admit if there were such a project I'd probably contribute, or if it were released I'd certainly download). I am just curious, given that it seems in direct conflict with HD/HERO's goal chargen-wise.

And by no means would I object if you said that UMA is the sole exception, this is NOT a question begging for the "wrong" answer. Actually I think it's swell you've done as much as you have for those of us still using MC. And I very much appreciate it. It speaks well of your commitment to the community.

Isn't that UMA pack pre-5th edition? I know I've seen it around for quite a while.

I don't recall ever giving Christopher permission to do UMA, frankly. That's about where I draw the line. Neither he nor anyone else is going to be allowed to post free versions of any of the rest of our content without our permission. If it occurs anyway, we'll take appropriate action.

Sorry, didn't mean to get Christopher into any trouble, I just assumed it was sanction given it was on the HERO site. My question wasn't meant to draw undue attention to that.

Don't worry, Zornwil. You didn't facilitate anything that would not have eventually happened anyway. Steve, being a educated lawyer and understanding copyright laws, just happens to take an extremely firm stand on the copyrights of the material produced by his company.

I'm sure the harsh tone that can be sensed in Steve's response above wasn't intended to be as harsh as it came off as. I'm sure he's simply warning people not to break the law and not to steal from Hero Games.

You have neither caused trouble nor asked stupid questions. You are fine.
