Greetings!

A recent gaming session showed me a need for more macro keys in ORPG. I, and the other players, found it very difficult to whisper die rolls to the GM, so we began putting them in macros. But, ORPG only has 12 macro keys.

Fortunately, I've been using a little utility from XRayz Software (http://www.xrayz.co.uk/) called ClipCache Plus. It's a clipboard management system that is virtually unlimited. I currently have well over 100,000 text and image clips stored in categories that can be called up with a hotkey, and adding more is just a matter of typing them in, or by copy and paste. It also makes a great screenshot "camera", as the results of pressing the PrintScreen key go directly to an image clip!

With this software, I have a number of macros limited only by my available hard drive space.

If you have a third-party utility that you find useful in your ORPG games, please post them here.

This sounds cool, have you tested it with ORPG...

Yep, and it works like a champ! You just have to make sure you have the ORPG cursor where you want the clip inserted... usually in the chat window.

Some friends and I have found out that combining ORPG with Ventrillo works well too. That way you can talk though your sound card and makes things a little quicker than all the typing in chat :)

Have you tried the patched Hero Dice roller, The Hero Turn/Phase tracker, and some of the Hero Character sheet Nodes, that have been recently posted in other threads here? They really enhance ORPG.

I am going to play with Ventrillo as you suggested and see what happens. If this pans out, the only thing left on my ORPG wish list will be a Hero Designer to ORPG export tamplate.

When i was doing tech support for Microsoft we used a little app called CanMan. Wonderful little utility that does the same as mentioned earlier... you create a library of text clips that it automatically puts on your clipboard for pasting. Unlimited number, unlimited length.

Since then i use this little gem everywhere I go. Now with a right click on my toolbar, I get a list of as many quick entry items as I need, and they are ready to paste wherever I need it.

Interesting... I found ClipCache to be quite useful for the same purpose when I was working customer service for a mail order company. In fact I'd have entire form letters saved as text clips and all I'd have to do was change the name of the recipient.

Unfortunately, when our IT guys found out I was using non-authorized software on a company computer, they gathered around me and glared until I reluctantly uninstalled it. :(
